Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani held a meeting with Julio Molto, the Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Panama, and his accompanying delegation, at the chamber’s Lusail headquarters Sunday.The meeting was attended by Qatar Chamber second vice-chairman Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba, board member Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar al-Mohamed, and Sheikha Tamader al-Thani, director of the International Relations and Chamber Affairs Department and secretary-general of the ICC Qatar. Both sides discussed bilateral co-operation, particularly in the commercial and economic fields, and explored avenues to enhance trade and investment. They also highlighted the private sector’s role in strengthening economic ties, along with the possibility of signing a co-operation agreement between the Qatar and Panama chambers. Sheikh Khalifa praised the strong relations between the two countries, noting that trade exchange remains modest and emphasising Qatar Chamber’s commitment to supporting co-operation with the Panamanian private sector.Julio Molto invited Qatari businessmen to invest in Panama, particularly in the food sector, highlighting the country’s potential as a global food hub and the opportunities to export Panamanian products to Qatar. He also invited Qatar Chamber to participate in Expo Panama, a major exhibition covering multiple economic sectors, scheduled for March.
