Barzan Holdings unveiled a suite of more than a dozen locally manufactured and integrated defence technologies at the opening of Milipol Qatar 2026 yesterday, underscoring the country’s push toward sovereign technological capabilities and domestic defence production.

Speaking to Gulf Times on the sidelines of the event, Barzan Holdings commercial relationship manager Ahmad al-Mulla (pictured) said the new capabilities span five operational categories, including autonomous systems, electronic warfare, communications, firearms, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

He highlighted that the defence firm builds and manages its technologies directly in Qatar, functioning as a master integrator for custom specifications.

The product launch features two communication and cybersecurity systems, comprising the Secure Comms VPN and Secure Comms CHAT.

In the domain of unmanned aerial systems, Barzan Holdings introduced five drones tailored for tactical operations, including the ISR – VTOL 400, the ISR Quadcopter – H-Silent, and three First-Person View options: the FPV Drone – 7”, FPV Drone – 10”, and FPV Drone – 15”.

Al-Mulla noted that these aerial platforms feature interchangeable payloads designed for flexible operational profiles.

“Depending on the mission, the payload can be changed, making the system essentially plug-and-play,” he said. “It can be configured for surveillance, intelligence gathering, kamikaze operations, or interception.”

For maritime security, the company introduced two autonomous surface capabilities: the Rasid USV and the Barzan Conversion Solution Coastguard USV.

Al-Mulla revealed that the Coastguard USV represents a pioneering project built locally alongside state security organs.

“We are unveiling our unmanned surface vessel conversion solution, the first project of its kind developed domestically in collaboration with the Qatari Coast Guard at the Ministry of Interior,” he said.

Under electronic warfare, Barzan Holdings presented Full-Cycle Integrated Air Defence Services.

The initiative is supported by a joint venture with Ukraine’s Carmine Sky to deliver layered air defence protecting critical national infrastructure.

The launch also includes three light arms: the BIG556 – 4.5”, BIG556 – 7”, and Q1 Corner rifles, al-Mulla said.

He affirmed that all the projects reinforce domestic manufacturing while serving the strategic needs of the Ministry of Interior.
