Rafeeq and Qatar Charity (QC)’s Alaqraboon Centre have signed a co-operation agreement to launch and operate the “Share the Reward” initiative, a digital giving initiative to help donors support specific needs of low-income families within Qatar.
Through the Rafeeq app, donors will be able to choose the type of support they wish to provide, including meals, food supplies, school essentials, clothing and medical assistance. The initiative aims to make giving more direct by connecting donations with clearly identified needs.
Alaqraboon Centre will assess cases, verify eligibility and identify priority needs, while Rafeeq will provide the digital channels required to feature the initiative and enable users to contribute through the app.
Faisal Rashid al-Fehaida, executive director of Alaqraboon Centre, said the initiative highlights the potential of partnerships and technology to serve the community and provide new ways for people to support those with limited income.
“The ‘Share the Reward’ initiative creates new opportunities for members of the community to contribute towards real needs, while promoting the values of solidarity and social responsibility,” al-Fehaida said.
He also encouraged Rafeeq users to take part in the initiative, noting that even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life and help build a more caring and connected community.
Al-Fehaida expressed hope that the initiative would encourage more companies and institutions to develop similar partnerships, widening community participation in charitable giving and supporting sustainable social impact.
Abdullah Thamer al-Hemeidi, CEO of Rafeeq, said the company views its role as extending beyond the provision of services to making a meaningful contribution to the community.
“Through the ‘Share the Reward’ initiative, we want to use technology to make giving easier and connect members of the community with low-income families, while preserving their dignity and helping ensure that support reaches its intended recipients,” al-Hemeidi said.
He added that Rafeeq was proud to partner with Alaqraboon Center and hoped the initiative would provide a successful model for collaboration between Qatar’s private and charitable sectors.
