Qatar's Ministry of Municipality has arranged a series of awareness and community programs to mark World Cleanup Day 2026, designed to promote public cleanliness and environmental awareness and sustainability.
The activities take place from September 13 to 19 and bring together government and private-sector organizations as well as volunteers and members of the community.
As part of the program, the ministry's Public Cleanliness Department held an event attended by over 300 students from different education levels.
The event featured interactive workshops, cultural competitions and gifts, focusing on waste sorting and recycling.
Meanwhile, Al Dhaayen and Al Rayyan municipalities, in collaboration with the Public Cleanliness Department, have organized beach-cleaning campaigns at Semaisma and Abu Samra beaches.
Organizers said the initiatives aimed to raise awareness of the importance of keeping beaches and public facilities clean, promote a culture of community responsibility and encourage people to take part in protecting natural resources.
