Qatar will be hosting a number of international events in the coming weeks and months, spanning sport, business, culture, heritage, cinema, technology, music, healthcare, and diplomacy, among others, drawing global attention to the country.
With high-profile events such as premier sporting championships, luxury brand exhibitions, technology forums, as well as art and cultural shows and musical extravaganzas, the events are set to attract a large number of visitors to Qatar.
Representing Qatar’s long-term investment in economic diversification, cultural exchange, and international engagement, the events are set to make the country a beehive of activity, with the S’hail – Katara International Hunting & Falcons Exhibition taking place from tomorrow until September 12 at Katara Cultural Village.
Falconry remains deeply embedded in Gulf heritage, and S’hail has evolved into one of the region’s most significant gatherings for falcon breeders, hunters and enthusiasts.
The highly anticipated Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition, a major luxury exhibition beyond Qatar and the region, will take place from September 28 to October 3.
The event is expected to feature major internationally renowned jewellery houses, watchmakers, designers and collectors, among others.
Moving to music, American singer and songwriter John Legend will perform at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) on September 10.
On November 6, film composer Hans Zimmer will be performing at Stadium 974, presenting a concert featuring iconic scores from movies such as *Interstellar, *Dune, *The Lion King, and *Gladiator.
Superstar Shakira will give a live performance at Stadium 974 on November 18 as part of her latest international tour.
On October 29, “CNN Global Perspectives: In Doha” will make its Middle East debut, featuring political leaders, business executives, academics, and cultural figures who will deliberate on global issues, including geopolitics, artificial intelligence (AI), technological transformation, media, and international co-operation.
A major tech event, the Mobile World Congress Doha 2026, will take place on November 8-10 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), gathering experts and leaders from telecommunications, AI, digital infrastructure and smart city development.
The Design Doha Biennial 2026, on November 5-7, will be another major event bringing together designers, architects and artists from the Menasa (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) region.
With the exhibitions on view until January 31, 2027, the focus is on contemporary design while promoting regional creative industries and encouraging collaboration between emerging and established talents.
The Doha Film Festival, organised by the Doha Film Institute (DFI), will be held on November 19-27, showcasing films from Qatar, the Arab world and the international filmmaking community.
The festival will also have a number of workshops, panel discussions, networking events and industry collaborations.
Qatar will host the MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar, taking place at Lusail International Circuit on November 6-8, as well as the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix on November 27-29.
Moving on, Qatar is all set to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup running from November 19 to December 13.
Featuring 48 national teams, the tournament will be one of the largest youth football competitions and will continue the partnership between FIFA and Qatar to host the championship annually from 2025 through 2029.
Qatar Foundation’s global healthcare initiative, the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), will host the 8th edition of its summit on November 29-30 at the QNCC under the theme *The New Health Span.
Another major international event will be the Doha Forum 2026, taking place on December 5-6 under the theme *Redefining Global Trust.
In addition, there are several other events spread across the year that showcase the country’s focus on sports, culture, and entertainment.
