The 27th Baghdad International Book Fair is taking place from Sept. 2-12, with 20 countries, including Qatar, taking part.
Over 600 publishing houses and agencies from Arab and foreign countries will participate, spread across almost 395 booths. Oman will be the guest of honor at the much-anticipated edition, showcasing the country’s literary, intellectual and scientific landscape.The event is punctuated by a wide diversity of cultural and intellectual programs that feature panel discussions, poetry and critical evenings, with Iraqi and Arab literary and intellectual dignitaries taking part.
This is alongside a cultural and artistic symposium bringing together numerous participants to showcase multiple new releases and hold literary and intellectual events.
The inaugural fair was launched in 1979 and has become one of Iraq’s and the region’s foremost cultural and intellectual events, drawing widespread participation from publishing houses and cultural institutions from across the Arab world and beyond.
It hosts key cultural and intellectual personalities, as well as attracting significant public and media attendance.
