Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar announced Saturday that the second edition of its "Frame and Focus" exhibition, showcasing the work produced through its flagship 14-week Advanced Photography Course, will run from September 5 to October 5, 2026, at Al Hosh Gallery.
The exhibition features documentary photography, portraiture and conceptual image-making by more than 12 photographers from Qatar and the region.
Frame and Focus showcases projects examining themes of identity, memory, heritage, migration, and belonging, drawing on participants' cultural backgrounds and personal experiences to present intimate perspectives on place, community, and contemporary life.
Organized by Tasweer in partnership with the Qatar Preparatory School (QPS), the VII Foundation, and Al Hosh Gallery, the intensive Frame and Focus Advanced Photography Course attracts promising photographers from Qatar and beyond.
Designed to encourage international creative exchange and rigorous professional development, the 2026 course offered participants direct mentorship from 11 globally renowned industry figures, including elite photojournalists, curators, and filmmakers.
"The Frame and Focus Advanced Photography Course highlights Tasweer’s core mission: to nurture local and regional photographic talent while contributing to Qatar’s growing creative landscape," said Khalifa Al Obaidly, Director of Tasweer.
"By uniting emerging voices with internationally recognized experts, the course offers a direct window into the practice and profession of photography. With this latest edition of Frame and Focus, we celebrate their distinctive creative journeys and aim to inspire the next generation of visual storytellers," Al Obaidly added.
Alongside the exhibition opening, Tasweer will announce the launch of applications for the third edition of the Frame and Focus Advanced Photography Course.
