The Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) has concluded a training programme titled “Strategic Communication Skills in the Workplace”, designed to equip employees with advanced communication capabilities and strengthen their professional effectiveness in an increasingly dynamic work environment.
The programme focused on the practical application of strategic communication, while developing participants’ skills in influence and persuasion, team management and crisis communication. It also explored effective approaches to handling diverse workplace communication situations, helping participants improve their decision-making, collaboration, and overall professional performance.
Maryam Sweilem, head of Training at QMC, told Gulf Times that the programme forms part of the corporation’s ongoing efforts to build the capabilities of its workforce and deepen co-operation with Qatar University.
“We are committed to delivering high-value training programmes that respond to the evolving demands of the professional environment and equip our employees with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in their roles.
This programme reflects our commitment to developing strategic communication, leadership and management capabilities, while creating a more effective and collaborative workplace.
“The programme was presented by Dr Talib al-Athba, from the Department of Media at Qatar University, who developed its content specifically to address the professional needs of QMC employees. This tailored approach contributed to the participants’ strong engagement, active interaction and high level of professional collaboration throughout the programme.
“Investing in the development of our employees is central to achieving institutional excellence. By continuously upgrading their capabilities and keeping pace with rapid changes in the professional landscape, we seek to enhance workplace performance in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.”
Sweilem noted that the programme represents part of QMC’s broader training strategy, which seeks to strengthen employees’ competencies across communication, management and leadership. Such initiatives, she said, help foster a more productive work environment while raising standards of professional performance.
Through its continued investment in specialised training, QMC aims to ensure that its workforce is equipped to meet emerging challenges, communicate effectively and contribute to the corporation’s institutional objectives.
