The Lebanese Parliament declared a general amnesty bill Wednesday and reduced the length of some sentences under exceptional provisions, following two days of debate and amendments.The bill was approved by a roll-call vote, with the term of life imprisonment amended and reduced from 14 to 12 years.The Parliament resumed its legislative session today at the request of Speaker Nabih Berri to follow up on the draft bills and legislative proposals on the agenda, after the Parliament had abolished the death penalty and amended the media law on Tuesday.
