The ColorVerse experience continues to attract visitors, particularly families, to Katara Cultural Village, offering an indoor adventure that combines interactive storytelling, digital technology and hands-on challenges during Qatar’s summer season.
Since opening on July 16, the attraction has engaged children and adults in the fictional world of Colorama, where they become part of the story as they journey through a series of themed zones.
“It is something unique for children as well as for adults like us. It kept me engaged, and I think all of us enjoyed the experience,” Doha resident Richard M, who visited the attraction with friends and compatriots, told *Gulf Times.
“There’s a lot to do – you get to jump around, explore and work together, which makes it really enjoyable for families,” he said. “I would definitely recommend it, especially during summer because it’s indoors and air-conditioned, so families can have fun and stay active away from the heat.”
“I also really liked the projections, lighting and interactive features,” he added. “They make you feel like you’re actually part of the experience.”
Presented by Qatar Calendar and developed in partnership with Spacetoon, ColorVerse is among the family-focused attractions on Qatar’s summer events calendar.
Open to families and children aged four and above, it runs until September 15 at Katara Cultural Village’s South Parking.
The experience takes visitors on a roughly 35- to 45-minute journey through Colorama, a once-vibrant world that has lost its colours after being overtaken by mysterious creatures known as the Munchers.
Guided by HUE, participants become “Restorers”, embarking on a mission to reactivate the world’s red, green and blue (RGB) colour system by completing challenges along the way.
Rather than simply watching the story unfold, visitors actively take part as they progress through environments representing different stages of Colorama’s restoration.
The journey begins in a world plunged into grey before participants enter interactive zones dedicated to restoring red, green and blue.
In the Energy Factory, or Red Zone, participants use movement and teamwork to activate energy points and generate enough power to awaken Red.
In the Green Zone, they search for hidden seeds to restore life to the environment, while the Blue Zone challenges them to protect the returning colours and complete the RGB spectrum.
The adventure culminates in a final battle in which participants attempt to stop the Munchers from draining Colorama of its colours again and help rebuild the fictional world.
Technology plays a central role in the experience, with projection mapping, dynamic lighting, immersive sound, motion-based activities and interactive digital gameplay used to bring the different environments to life.
ColorVerse also features collaborative activities, live entertainment, family-friendly installations and opportunities to meet its characters.
Early online feedback has been positive.
On ticketing platform Platinumlist, ColorVerse received a high initial rating, with one reviewer highlighting its concept and execution, as well as the organisation of visitors into groups.
The indoor setting provides families with another activity-based entertainment option during Qatar’s hottest months, when opportunities for daytime outdoor activities are more limited.
ColorVerse forms part of Hala Summer 2026, Visit Qatar’s seasonal campaign featuring family entertainment, shopping promotions, hospitality offers and cultural experiences across the country.
The campaign also includes indoor entertainment and seasonal activations, as well as the “Kids Go Free” initiative, which offers participating stays, dining and activities at no additional cost for children under 12.
Through these initiatives, Visit Qatar said the summer programme aims to broaden the range of activities available to residents and visitors while strengthening Qatar’s appeal as a year-round family destination.
