Ahlibank CEO Hassan Ahmed AlEfrangi said, “The bank delivered a steady performance during the first half of 2026, reflecting the disciplined execution of our strategy, and continued focus on serving our customers. Despite the evolving operating environment, we continued to strengthen our business banking initiatives while maintaining strong capitalisation and good loan growth.”

AlEfrangi added: “Throughout the period, we continued to invest in digital banking capabilities. The retail focus on digitalisation and distribution channels is designed to improve efficiency, increase revenue and optimise costs.

“We also enhanced our products and services across retail and corporate banking. These initiatives position the Bank to deliver sustainable growth and long-term value for our shareholders and customers.”

Ahlibank chairman Sheikh Faisal bin AbdulAziz bin Jassem al-Thani said, “The bank is focused on executing its long-term strategy. Notwithstanding the geopolitical developments, the Bank remains well positioned in contributing to Qatar’s continued economic development.”

An important milestone was crossed during June 2026, when Moody’s reaffirmed the Ahlibank’s long-term local and foreign currency deposit ratings as A2 with a stable outlook. Fitch has also maintained Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) of ‘A’, reflecting international confidence in the bank’s solid financial position, sound governance, and strong ability to meet its obligation.

Sheikh Faisal added: “On behalf of the board, we thank the Qatar Central Bank for its guidance and support during this time and for enabling the banking sector to meet the various challenges.”
