His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met a series of visiting heads of state, government and royalty Wednesday at Lusail Palace, all offering condolences on the passing of late His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
Each reception was attended by His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness Personal Representative of the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al-Thani, His Excellency Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa al-Thani, His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, and His Excellency Shura Council Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim, along with a number of sons of the late Father Amir and other Sheikhs, unless otherwise noted below.
HH the Amir received UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan and his accompanying delegation. The UAE president was himself accompanied by Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed al-Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, and a number of Sheikhs and senior officials.
HH the Amir also received Sheikh Saud bin Saqr al-Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and member of the UAE's Supreme Council, and his accompanying delegation. This reception was additionally attended by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani and HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa al-Thani. The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah was accompanied by Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Public Services Department Sheikh Ahmed bin Saud bin Saqr al-Qasimi, and a number of senior officials.
King Abdullah II of Jordan and his accompanying delegation also called on HH the Amir. He offered his deepest condolences on the passing of the late HH the Father Amir.
President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas and his accompanying delegation offered condolences in a separate reception.
Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Harini Amarasuriya and her accompanying delegation also met HH the Amir. This reception was additionally attended by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani and HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa al-Thani.
Prime Minister of France Sebastien Lecornu and his accompanying delegation offered condolences at a reception additionally attended by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani and HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa al-Thani.
