The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar has conveyed its condolences to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the people of the State of Qatar on the passing of His Highness the late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
“Highly regarded by his peers and constituents, HH the late Father Amir will perhaps be best remembered for his outsized role in bringing Qatar to global prominence. Under his leadership, Qatar also became second home to many of our nationals who found in this country a sense of comfort and belonging,” Ambassador Mardomel Celo D Melicor emphasised.
He added: “His historic visit to Manila in 2012 — the first by a Qatari leader — lent greater depth and meaning to the ties that bind our two nations. Our thoughts are with the people of the State of Qatar during this difficult period, and we wish them solace and strength to withstand the severity of their loss.”
