The comedy play "Sugar Daddy" continues its run at the Abdulaziz Nasser Theatre in Souq Waqif until June 6, attracting a large audience and enthusiastic participation from fans of Gulf Comedy Theatre. This comes amidst a flurry of artistic and entertainment events taking place in Doha during the festivities of Eid Al-Adha.
The play stars acclaimed players like Hassan al-Balam, along with Ahmed al-Awnan, Zahra Arafat, and Fawz al-Shatti. Written and directed by Abdullah al-Badr, a prominent Kuwaiti theatre director and actor, and serves as the head of the Youth Theatre Department at the Public Authority for Youth in Kuwait. He is considered one of the most prominent directors in the Gulf region, and his name is associated with many successful popular works with "Al-Balam Group," as well as in comedy and horror theatre.
The play unfolds within a social comedy framework, exploring the nature of contemporary relationships, which are often based on self-interest and materialistic expectations.
