His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman discussed developments in the region amid rising regional tensions.
The two sides met at Al Baraka Palace in Muscat, where they exchanged views on current developments, particularly their implications for regional security and stability as well as their impact on energy supplies and international shipping.
Both leaders stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and the need to prioritise diplomatic solutions and dialogue to resolve disputes, contributing to regional and international security and stability.
They also emphasised continued coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest in addition to the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to further develop them across various fields.
The session was attended by HH Personal Representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani; His Excellency Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Khulaifi, and His Excellency Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, in addition to Their Excellencies senior officials.
From the Omani side, the session was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Shihab bin Tariq al-Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Theyazin bin Haitham al-Said, and Minister of Diwan of Royal Court Khalid bin Hilal Al-Busaidi, in addition to Their Excellencies senior Omani officials.
Following the meeting, HH the Amir and Sultan of Oman held a bilateral session in which they exchanged views on strengthening co-operation and discussing other matters of mutual interest.
Later, HH the Amir left Muscat Thursday for Doha.
At the forefront of those bidding farewell to HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation was Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
Also present were Shihab bin Tariq al-Said, Theyazin bin Haitham al-Said, Khalid bin Hilal al-Busaidi, and Qatar's ambassador Sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad al-Thani, in addition to a lineup of Their Excellencies senior Omani officials.
