Qatar Red Crescent Society to distribute 8,875 food parcels in Sudan

The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is proceeding with the humanitarian aid programme for the people of Sudan, with a new batch of food aid launched in co-operation with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS), for the benefit of poor and affected families in three states.

Dr Salah al-Din Daak, head of the QRCS representative office in Sudan, said that the plan involves a total of 8,875 food parcels to be distributed over the coming few days, as follows: 5,000 in North Kordofan, 1,000 in River Nile, and 2,875 in White Nile.

The QRCS is raising funds from charity payers to distribute 8,442 diverse food parcels containing local staples to 50,652 poor and displaced beneficiaries in Sudan, at a cost of QR385 per parcel.
