Reflecting Qatar’s significant progress and innovations in medicine, surgery, and related fields, the Qatar Health Congress (QHC) 2026 will convene under the theme “Innovation and Integration across Medical Disciplines.”
Organised by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and in collaboration with the American College of Physicians, the Mayo Clinic, Global NASH Council and the Federation of Royal College of Physicians of United Kingdom, the 2026 edition of the congress will take place from January 28-31 at Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel.
Running since 2010, the biennial conference features topics of clinical importance and will feature internal medicine, metabolic, diabetes, obesity, rheumatology, neurology, nephrology, acute medicine, pulmonary, oncology, gastroenterology, research, education and public health prevention and protection.
Dr Ahmed al-Mohammed, chairman of Qatar Health Congress-2026 and the chairman of Medicine Department at HMC, noted that this year’s congress brings together an exceptional community of healthcare professionals.
He said: “The conference gathers researchers, and thought leaders from around the world, united by a shared commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care and the conference reminds the importance of networking, collaboration, innovation, and resilience in tackling the evolving challenges of global health.”
According to Prof Abdel-Naser Elzouki, co-chair and chairman, Scientific Planning Committee, of the congress and Chief of General Internal Medicine, HMC, the congress held under the patronage of the Ministry of Public Health, will share insights and expertise of a large number of healthcare professionals and will provide valuable perspectives and meaningful conversations.
“This congress aims to provide a platform for clinicians, academicians, and researchers from Qatar and around the world to present their clinical contributions and research in Internal Medicine and its subspecialties as well as the trauma and critical care field. The four-day event will feature information-packed sessions delivered by an outstanding assembly of distinguished speakers who are leaders in their respective specialties,” explained Prof Elzouki.
The congress has a comprehensive programme that includes plenary lectures, mini-symposia, diagnostic challenges, meet the expert sessions, mini-MDT panel discussions, free research presentations, and scientific poster exhibits. Additionally, several interactive workshops on various topics in medicine and its subspecialties and a postgraduate course that covers the recent updates in Internal Medicine and its subspecialities will be held.
The official highlighted that the field of medicine along with its subspecialities continues to evolve, driven by innovative research and pharmacological advancements.
“This congress serves as a unique platform for physicians, allied health professionals, and researchers to come together, share knowledge, and explore the latest developments in this field. Our goal is to advance knowledge, foster collaboration, inspire new ideas, and ultimately enhance patient care in Qatar and beyond,” he added.
