In commemoration of the International Day of Education, the Education Above All Foundation (EAA) announced a series of impactful events and initiatives designed to emphasize the significance of education and address critical issues facing children and youth globally.
Aligned with this year's theme, "Learning for Lasting Peace", these initiatives reflect the Foundation's steadfast commitment to making a positive impact through transformative educational interventions.
In collaboration with Qatar Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), UNESCO, and photographer Azzam Al Mannai, EAA organized an exhibition of Al Mannai's work that offer a unique perspective on the lives of out-of-school children in Pakistan, illustrating the transformative power of education.
In partnership with Qatar Foundation, MoEHE, and UNESCO, EAA presented a panel discussion Education Under Attack. This session featured prominent participation from development specialists in the Educate a Child and the Protect Education in Insecurity and Conflict programs, as well as students from Sudan and Palestine, to shed light on the multifaceted dimensions of the right to and protection of education within challenging contexts.
Collaborating with Musheireb, the EAA Foundation presented a thought-provoking installation titled "The Last Class" that consists of 110 bags representing each day from the beginning of the war up until International Education Day, symbolizing the urgent need for global attention to education in crisis zones.
EAA released a position paper on the situation in Sudan, with a focus on policy and law. The publication, titled "A Lost Generation", addresses the challenges faced by children in Sudan and advocates for urgent policy interventions.
In collaboration with Expo 2023 Doha, EAA hosted a session highlighting the critical connection between education and sustainable peace.
The Foundation also organized, in collaboration with Silatech, a workshop that explored the significance of personality development in the context of education and employment.
EAA's Reach Out to Asia (ROTA) hosted a workshop in cooperation with Erthna, focusing on innovative approaches to climate education.
