During the rally organised on Tuesday by the Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) with the theme, “Together against the war in Gaza,” Elizabeth Marascalchi, the Riva group chief executive and “Andare Oltre” humanitarian foundation co-founder said, “We are here tonight because it is our duty to pray for all the people of Gaza - children, women and men, to sustain them with our spirit, with our energy, because it is unfortunately the only concrete thing we can do".
"United, our energy and prayers are stronger", she said.
"The rally is to demonstrate that Doha and Qatar community is strongly united for Palestine where Muslims, Christians and peole of all other faiths are living in peace next to each other. We want to send this strong message of union as some in the world out there want us divided. We are not going to let anybody divide us and rule us in the name of power, hate or occupation. We are not going to stand on the side of the wrong with the killers, just because of certain media are not showing people the truth," Marascalchi added.
"We stand with Palestine with our hearts and spirits. We want to send a clear, visual message to Europe and all the world from our beautiful Qatar inline with the message we spread during World Cup, stressing that the values of our community are peace and unity. Each time we fight for our brothers and sisters, for the freedom of the people of Gaza, we are fighting for our own freedom. Let’s not forget this ever. May God bless Palestine and receive all the martyrs in his merciful kingdom.” Marascalchi concluded.
