International travellers arriving in the Philippines will no longer be required to present a vaccination certificate for Covid-19, according to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
The updated protocols were conveyed by the Philippine embassy in Qatar via its social media pages such as Facebook, providing details on the requirements for travelers.
The announcement stated that international travellers arriving in the Philippines, regardless of their vaccination status, will be accepted.
For those departing from the Philippines, the advisory noted that vaccination requirements will be dependent on the regulations of the destination country. The Philippine Bureau of Quarantine advises travellers to carefully review and adhere to the specific requirements of their intended destination.
The announcement also addresses the vaccination requirements for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and seafarers, stating that: “The issuance of the International Certificate of Vaccination for Prophylaxis for Yellow Fever Vaccine and other vaccination depends on the requirement of the agency/company.”
The Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) also earlier unveiled a digital application housing the OFW Pass, as a seamless alternative to the traditional Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC).
President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. issued a directive to make the OFW Pass and the DMW Mobile App available free of charge to all OFW users.
The introduction of the OFW Pass app comes as a result of the resounding demand from OFWs, particularly those stationed in Qatar and various nations across the Middle East.
This newly launched digital app is set to ease the burden of cumbersome paperwork and provide OFWs with a more efficient means of fulfilling the necessary documentation requirements.
Available for download on both Google Play and the Apple Store, the DMW mobile app promises to be a game-changer for OFWs and streamline their overseas journeys. The app offers a user-friendly interface and seamless navigation, ensuring that OFWs can access their essential documents with ease.
