Eid al-Fitr activities and events got off to a spectacular start at Lusail Boulevard Saturday, much to the delight of the huge crowds that had gathered there.

Unlike most other places, Eid activities at Lusail Boulevard started on Day 2 of Eid, and not the first day. The festivities continue until the fourth day of Eid.

And, as anticipated, the place - which has emerged as one of the most popular entertainment destinations in Qatar since hosting the Darb Lusail Festival just before the FIFA World Cup in 2022 - saw people of different ages and backgrounds come in large numbers to enjoy the festivities.

From carnival activities and parades and fireworks and drone shows - Lusail Boulevard has a wide range of offerings for visitors this Eid.

Lusail Boulevard has been pedestrianised to allow visitors enjoy the festive atmosphere while walking along the entire stretch of the boulevard, towards the stunning Al Sa’ad Plaza.

"It is an amazing place, and do not miss any event happening here at Lusail Boulevard," said Saleem, who was visiting the Boulevard Saturday.

"All the activities and attractions here are good, and the children - in particular - are having great time," added Ahmed, who had come with his family.

Setting the perfect mood is an onsite DJ, while various cultural and carnival activities await visitors of different ages. The colourful parade is one of the highlights, drawing loud cheers and animated responses from the young visitors in particular, while stage shows and street entertainment also keep the public hooked.

The DJ and cultural/carnival activities are available from 4pm, according to the schedule published on the Lusail City Twitter page, while the parade takes place thrice - at 6.30pm, 9pm and 11.30pm.

Stage shows and street entertainment begin at 7.30pm.

And, to top it up, the drone (10.30pm) and fireworks (10.45pm) shows truly make it an evening to remember.

Various culinary offerings are available at the eateries and cafeterias that dot the boulevard.

Elegant Eid decor and illumination greet visitors and give some great photo opportunities. “The ambience is amazing and the pleasant evening weather allows all to walk with ease,” said Mohamed Niyas, another visitor.

"We may come back again tomorrow or the day after, it's such a nice place and has a great ambience," added Janice.

The festive illumination across Al Sa’ad Plaza, along with light music wafting through the air, instantly brings a smile to the visitors' faces. The entire area and the buildings, shops and eateries are adorned with special decorations featuring Eid themes.

Traditional tents alongside Al Sa’ad Plaza add to the charming atmosphere while highlighting Qatar’s traditions and heritage. The offerings at the tents give visitors the opportunity to taste traditional Qatari beverages, coffee and karak tea while some sell traditional clothes and other have handicrafts.
