The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) on Monday concluded the public examinations for the ‘Little Muhaddith’ competition for higher level students.

According to an official press statement, the tests were held on Sunday and Monday. The competition, in its ninth edition, has evoked a good response with the number of registered participants reaching 6,705. They include girls, boys and their parents.

The closing ceremony of the competition will be held at Al Jewan Hall, Dana Club, for girls and female parents on May 7 and for boys and male parents on May 8.

Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed al-Thani, director-general of the General Department of Endowments, praised the keenness of parents and students to participate in the competition. He urged them to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the competition to learn the Hadiths of the Prophet (PBUH) and follow them while getting acquainted with the rulings and morals.

The 'Little Muhaddith' competition has been organised by the General Department of Endowments under the supervision of Awqaf and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as part of the endowment bank’s projects to serve the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah.

The Waqf Bank is one of the important endowment initiatives at the General Administration of Endowments. It is a form of community participation to support various initiatives while co-operating with the competent authorities to create various development programmes.
