Major hypermarkets and supermarkets will continue to offer a wide range of food and non-food items at their branches and through online orders amid the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
“There is enough stock for everyone, for many months to come,” Carrefour Qatar country manager Laurent Hausknecht said in a message emailed to customers on Thursday.
He added that Carrefour’s physical and digital stores are fully stocked, ensuring shoppers “have what they need when they need it”.

Carrefour mobile app sees an increasing demand for online orders

Carrefour’s online store, launched in December last year, offers a wide selection of over 12,000 products, from fresh food to personal care and household items, among other goods.
“We understand that in times of uncertainty, our customers' purchasing behaviour changes to safeguard the wellbeing of their families. Today we see them stock up, sometimes even over shop out of this concern. Despite the uptick, our supply chain is well equipped to ensure products remain available to our customers,” Hausknecht said.
“I want to assure our loyal Carrefour customers that we continue to work closely with our suppliers and partners to ensure our shelves remain stocked and online orders are being delivered as fast as possible in these challenging times,” he added.
Carrefour is also implementing additional hygiene and preventive measures for the health and safety of its customers and employees.
The country manager encouraged all Carrefour customers to shop responsibly, preferably alone, and advised them to keep distances and be mindful of others.
“Whether our customers prefer to shop online or visit our stores, Carrefour remains open for business, operating at normal hours. As always, we will continue to monitor stock levels to ensure we adequately cater to customer needs and maintain the prices of our products,” Hausknecht said.
“Every member of Carrefour, from my leadership team to the amazing team you meet in our stores, is working tirelessly to ensure we continually provide the high quality products and services our customers expect from Carrefour in a safe and clean environment,” he added.
