The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) 2018, a global healthcare initiative of Qatar Foundation, will feature this year an enhanced and interactive exhibition space, Innovation Hub, featuring some of the world’s most exciting healthcare innovations.

For the first time, the Innovation Hub will have an informal discussion space with spotlight and library area. It will host informal discussions, provide hands-on experience of technologies and offer a variety of networking opportunities.
The major features at the Innovation Hub are Innovation Showcases, Young Innovators, the Spotlight stage, library area and a discussion space as well as networking.
The WISH 2018 Innovation Showcases represent some of the healthcare innovations, ranging from practical devices and business models to design-based solutions, according to a press statement. Those showcasing their innovations share a common goal: driving improvement and excellence in healthcare. Each innovation showcase has the potential to transform global health, both reducing the costs of healthcare delivery and improving the quality of care for patients.
The Showcases provide a chance for entrepreneurs to exhibit their healthcare innovations in front of some of the world’s leading health experts and decision makers. WISH provides a platform to enable delegates to engage with these exciting ideas that are changing healthcare from the ground up.
WISH highlights some of the most exciting innovations in healthcare through its Young Innovators competition. It celebrates the spirit of innovation through its Young Innovators programme, which provides a platform for tomorrow’s most promising healthcare leaders. Their innovations include devices, applications, innovative delivery models and design-based solutions that improve quality of care and patient experience, while also reducing the cost of care.
This year, for the first time, the Innovation Hub will include an informal discussion space, where delegates will be able to interact with those leading discussions on topics focused on finding new ideas at the intersection of different aspects of healthcare policy. A library space will house WISH’s reports and will be the site of 'meet the author' sessions with the people who put together the reports. A café setting will be the site of the Innovation Spotlight stage, which will be where young innovators will be offered the chance to pitch their ideas.
The Innovation Hub is designed to offer plenty of opportunity for delegates to network informally, but for WISH 2018 there will also be an opportunity to enable more formalised meet-ups to take place in a special designated area.
WISH has invited local artists to devise a large-scale centrepiece for the Innovation Hub and the closing date for entries is September 2. The winning idea will be developed by the summit organisers into a large-scale item that will be prominently positioned at the Innovation Hub.
Around 2,000 healthcare experts, innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and ministers from over 100 countries will gather in Doha on November 13 and 14 to take part in the summit.
