World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) has started the global registration of delegates for its 2017 summit with the "early bird" discount offer closing by June 30.

The 2017 WISE Summit will convene under the theme “Co-Exist, Co-Create: Learning to Live and Work Together", at Qatar National Convention Centre from November 14 to 16.

It is expected that more than 2,000 high-profile delegates from over 100 countries will take part in the premier global education conference. More than 90 international speakers and about 1,200 organisations will also take part in the summit, whose first edition was held in 2009.

The summit provides a platform for accessing top-end knowledge on the latest innovation, research, reforms and trends as well as share the best practices and insight with international influencers.

There will also be opportunities for networking sessions with key strategic partners and funders and connect with global leaders and practitioners from Qatar and the Mena region.

After the last summit in 2015, WISE has shifted to a biennial cycle of summits to allow a greater focus on WISE research, expanded outreach and collaboration through smaller regional engagements.

This year’s theme reflects the commitment of WISE to address important education challenges in times of disruption and economic uncertainty stemming from conflict, mass migration, growing inequality, ongoing rapid technological change and other forces.

The summit will be an opportunity to rethink and reorganise the way learning is delivered in an age of disruption. Participants will explore and discover a host of topics that are shaping the future of teaching and learning, including the impact of artificial intelligence on education, transforming roles of teachers, leveraging social entrepreneurship for innovation, changing mindsets toward migrants, among several others.

The announcement of the WISE Prize for Education Laureate is one of the highlights of the summit. The WISE Prize for Education, established in 2010, is a world-class recognition of an individual or a team for outstanding contribution to any field of education. The summit will also celebrate six WISE Awards winning projects selected from a number of projects from around the globe.

With the emphasis on interactivity, participants enjoy opportunities to meet with representatives of WISE Awards winning projects, the WISE Accelerator enterprises, members of the Learners' Voice, and with WISE authors.

The WISE Majlis, a central gathering and exhibition space, encourages informal interaction and includes sponsored booths, the popular Learners’ Voice Café, the WISE Research kiosk and the Learning Labs where local students experience the best in teaching and hands-on doing in the classroom.

Participants at WISE benefit from a wide range of sessions, including keynote and special addresses, interactive panel discussions, dynamic hands-on workshops, as well as more intimate special interest sessions and informal meet-ups. WISE Plus, a community organising platform, is available ahead of the summit to help delegates tailor their programmes according to individual priorities, and facilitate connection and collaboration.
