HE the Attorney General Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri and University of Jordan president Dr Khalif al-Tarawneh yesterday signed an agreement to establish a chair at the university to fight corruption. The agreement, which was signed by the attorney general in his capacity as the UN special advocate for the prevention of corruption, aims to teach students the UN Convention against Corruption. Last year, the Qatar University launched a chair to fight corruption. The move is part of the Doha-based Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre’s efforts in support of the work of the special advocate for the prevention of corruption. Dr al-Marri delivered a lecture at the University of Jordan on the UN Convention against Corruption and the review mechanism of the convention implementation, with a focus on prevention.
