HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, met on Thursday with  Minister of Defence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Kholmukhamedov and the accompanying delegation, during his visit to the State of Qatar.During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments and security updates in the region, along with aspects of military cooperation and joint coordination in light of the current circumstances.The meeting also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on military cooperation between the Qatari Ministry of Defense and the Uzbek Ministry of Defence.Several senior officers and officials from both sides attended the meeting. 

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and King Abdullah II of Jordan, who is visiting Tashkent, discussed on Tuesday ways of strengthening bilateral relations and exchanged views on the latest developments in the Middle East.During the meeting, King Abdullah II emphasized the urgent need to halt the Israeli assault on Gaza, end the humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip, and ensure the unimpeded flow of aid.He also underscored the importance of stopping the dangerous escalation in the West Bank and the ongoing violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
