Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to QatarUnder the slogan “Our Pride Is in Our Nature”, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its 96th National Day this year. The slogan encapsulates an enduring truth: this nation’s pride springs from the character of its people and their deeply rooted values — courage, authenticity, determination, generosity and hospitality. These qualities formed the foundations of the state when its founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman al-Saud — may God rest his soul — united this land under one flag, establishing a state built on unity, security and stability. These same values continue to drive the transformation of the present, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud — may God protect them both — under Saudi Vision 2030.A decade after its launch, the Vision is no longer merely an expression of ambition: tangible indicators show how its aspirations have become reality. Non-oil gross domestic product has sustained its growth, with non-oil activities accounting for approximately 55% of real GDP and recording growth of 4.9% in 2025 compared with the previous year. This helped real GDP achieve annual growth of 4.5%, reaching SAR4,902bn, equivalent to more than $1.3tn.Foreign direct investment inflows also rose from SAR28bn in 2017 to SAR133bn in 2025 equivalent to approximately $28bn — almost five times their earlier level — despite the slowdown in the global investment environment. Meanwhile, preliminary estimates put the Public Investment Fund’s assets at more than SAR3.41tn, exceeding $900bn.Women’s participation in the labour market also surpassed the Vision’s target years ahead of schedule, reaching approximately 35%. Furthermore, 93% of programme and strategy performance indicators achieved or exceeded their annual targets, or came close to doing so valued at (85-99%).This momentum continued into the beginning of the current year, with real GDP growing by 3% in the first quarter of 2026. Non-oil activities were a prominent driver of this growth, while financial and business services led the sectors with growth of 5.4%. These figures tell the story of an economy that is diversifying and expanding, building sources of income that do not depend on oil alone.On this occasion, relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the brotherly State of Qatar take on particular significance. The two countries share far more than geographical proximity: their relationship rests on deep-rooted fraternal bonds and a common destiny, reinforced by the sincere determination of both leaderships to take relations to broader horizons. They also share ambitions for sustainable development, clearly reflected in the alignment between Saudi Vision 2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030. Both seek to advance economic development to achieve a prosperous economy, while strengthening human development to build a vibrant society. Both countries are firmly committed to achieving their visions’ objectives, having completed numerous tangible projects that consolidate sustainable development and improve quality of life.The eighth meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Co-ordination Council, held in Riyadh on December 8, 2025, co-chaired by Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his brother, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani — may God protect them both — reaffirmed the commitment to taking relations to broader horizons. It yielded initiatives led by the project to connect the two countries through a high-speed electric railway.The figures also testify to the depth of this partnership. Trade between the two countries has surged over the past three years, rising from approximately SAR2.7bn to SAR9.3bn in 2025. This reflects growing economic integration between two major Gulf economies that share the same ambition to diversify and achieve prosperity.Relations between countries are measured not only by the gains made in times of prosperity, but also by the solidarity they demonstrate during hardship. Regional developments have illustrated the depth of co-ordination between Riyadh and Doha, from continued consultation between the two leaderships to joint efforts to contain crises and support regional security.In this context, the Kingdom has played an active role in supporting the smooth movement of travellers, trade and supply chains, and in expanding logistics options serving GCC countries and regional markets. This reflects its advanced infrastructure and enduring commitment to regional stability.The Kingdom’s National Day is more than a moment to reflect on a glorious past. It renews the commitment to building the nation through the same qualities that forged its unity: pride rooted in character and ambition expressed through action. When this pride is coupled with a Saudi-Qatari partnership that deepens day by day, its meaning becomes complete.May the Kingdom, Qatar and their peoples enjoy continue In support of the national Purple Saturday Initiative, HOPE Qatar Centre for Persons with Disabilities successfully concluded its Purple Saturday Week 2026, held from July 25 to August 1 under the theme “Unity in Purple.” Throughout the week, the centre delivered a comprehensive awareness campaign that brought together children, families, youth volunteers, educators, and the wider community through awareness workshops, inclusive activities, volunteer engagement, and digital advocacy. The initiative reinforced the Centre’s commitment to promoting acceptance, understanding, and meaningful inclusion of persons with disabilities across Qatar. Throughout the week, the centre implemented a diverse programme of activities designed to promote awareness, encourage interaction, and strengthen social inclusion.**media[475887]**The week featured themed inclusive celebrations, including Yellow Day, Hats Day, Watermelon Fiesta, Floral Day, interactive arts and crafts, and collaborative activities where children with and without disabilities learned, played, and celebrated together. In parallel, the centre maintained a sustained social media awareness campaign, extending the message of Purple Saturday beyond its premises and encouraging the wider community to embrace diversity, accessibility, and the inclusion of persons with disabilities. A key highlight of the initiative was the Awareness Workshop, “Inclusion Starts with Me,” delivered by Dr Rizwanah Adeebh. The workshop encouraged participants to move beyond awareness by developing a deeper understanding of disability, challenging misconceptions, and becoming advocates for inclusion. It also introduced the centre’s HOPE Sadeeqi Programme, which promotes lifelong friendships between persons with disabilities and their peers, demonstrating that genuine inclusion begins with meaningful relationships and everyday acts of acceptance. The Purple Saturday initiative generated significant community engagement and measurable impact. A total of 80 students participated in the week’s inclusive activities, while 40 youth volunteers actively supported the campaign and awareness workshop by assisting with activities, engaging with students, and promoting the message of inclusion. All participating volunteers were enrolled in the centre’s HOPE Sadeeqi Programme, reinforcing its commitment to fostering lasting friendships and developing a growing network of young inclusion ambassadors. Through its awareness workshop, inclusive activities, volunteer engagement, and digital advocacy, the initiative contributed to strengthening public understanding of disability inclusion and encouraging positive action that extends well beyond Purple Saturday. As part of the Purple Saturday Initiative, the centre also introduced a special community offer, providing families who enrolled during the campaign with complimentary developmental screening and free access to the August Summer Camp. The initiative aimed to encourage more children to benefit from the Centre’s specialised education, intervention services, and life skills programmes. Reflecting on the success of the initiative, HOPE Qatar Centre for Persons with Disabilities reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to promoting acceptance, accessibility, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. Through initiatives such as Purple Saturday Week and the HOPE Sadeeqi Programme, the centre continues to foster a more inclusive society where every individual is respected, valued, and empowered to participate fully in community life. 

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani held separate talks Saturday with visiting Libyan and Syrian officials, reaffirming Qatar's support for the unity and sovereignty of both countries.  He met Prime Minister of Libya's Government of National Unity Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, who is visiting Qatar.  They reviewed co-operation between the two countries and ways to support and develop it, and discussed the latest regional developments. The prime minister reaffirmed Qatar's firm support for Libya's unity and for the Libyan people's aspirations for stability and development, along with its full backing for the Libyan political process, relevant Security Council resolutions and all peaceful solutions that preserve Libya's sovereignty.  He also met Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria Asaad al-Shaibani, who is visiting the country. They reviewed bilateral co-operation and ways to enhance it, as well as the latest developments in Syria and issues of mutual concern.  The prime minister reaffirmed Qatar's support for the unity, sovereignty and independence of Syria, and for the Syrian people's aspirations to live in dignity and build a state based on institutions and the rule of law. He also reaffirmed Qatar's support for efforts to rebuild, reconstruct and stabilise Syria. 

World Malayalee Council- Qatar (WMC-Q) conducted its 2nd Kerala Unity Blood drive on June 12 at Qatar National Blood Donation Centre, under the banner of 'Many Hearts, One Mission'. The drive was conducted in partnership with Blood Donors Kerala Qatar, 14 district associations of Kerala, 5 healthcare partners, and 3 media partners.This initiative by WMC-Q showcases the unity and solidarity within the community, and an act of serving the host nation has been awe-inspiring and true to the tagline 'Many Hearts, One Mission'.Indian ambassador Vipul inaugurated the event, handed over mementos to associates and partners, and paid a visit and interacted with the donors. He remarked that blood donation and health camps conducted by various organisations should be continuous efforts. He also remarked on the excellent health care provided by HMC, Qatar's health care system, and the close ties between the two nations.**media[458801]**Renjith Challil, general secretary, delivered the welcome address. Ziad Usman, president WMC-Q, thanked all associated associations for their unhesitating willingness and support for the initiative by WMC. He remarked that the objective was to bring together people and work towards something meaningful in supporting the host nation and believed that such collaborations would continue in future as well.A P Manikandan, president of ICC and Sithendu Pal, VP ISC, addressed the gathering in felicitating all the organisations involved. Nasser, HMC, P N Baburaj, K S Prasad, Krishna Kumar Bandhakavi, Avinash Gaikwad, Rajani Moorthy, other community leaders and well-wishers were present during the inaugural functionJiji John, the treasurer, delivered the vote of thanks, and Subina Vijay was the host for the event.Extremely thankful to the donors, HMC Blood Donation Centre for their support, BDK for their guidance, district associations, health care partners, WMC team and volunteers in making this project successful. 

Romania’s ambassador to Qatar Daniel Tanase has said that Qatar National Day (QND) is an occasion of profound national pride, unity, and reflection, honouring the country's history and culture, while looking toward the future.Speaking to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the envoy said that the National Day represents a moment of patriotic gratitude, marking Qatar's remarkable journey toward prosperity and global influence.He noted that the occasion celebrates national unity, visionary leadership, and the values of loyalty, solidarity, and resilience that define the Qatari identity.It also serves, Tanase added, as a reminder of the sacrifices of past generations and the vision that continues to guide the nation's development.He praised Qatar's diplomatic and political approach, describing it as highly effective at both regional and international levels, driven by a firm commitment to dialogue and constructive engagement, adding that the State has positioned itself as a genuine bridge-builder by maintaining direct and open channels of communication with a wide range of parties.On Qatar-Romania relations, Tanase stressed that bilateral ties have witnessed strong momentum in recent years, supported by regular consultations, a well-developed legal framework in many areas of mutual interest, and a strong will to further develop and enhance the bilateral cooperation in sectors like economy, education and culture, health, agriculture, energy, transport, infrastructure, tourism, sports and many more.He noted that the two countries are marking 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.
