Syria, World Bank review projects to develop land transport

Syrian Minister of Transport Yaarub Bader met with Manager of Transport Global Practice for the Middle East & North Africa at the World Bank, Ibrahim Dajani. During the meeting, they reviewed several vital projects for developing the infrastructure and rail transport sectors in Syria, efforts to rehabilitate urban roads and improve transportation, as well as a strategic plan to modernize and rehabilitate the railway network.Both sides emphasized that these projects are crucial for sustainable development and achieving economic integration among Syrian governorates.

Qatar, Cyprus sign MoU on cooperation in maritime field

Qatar and Cyprus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance their cooperation in maritime transportation fields. Minister of Transport His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Thani and the Shipping Deputy Minister to the President of the Republic of Cyprus Ms. Marina Hadjimanolis signed the MoU on the sidelines of the Maritime Cyprus 2025 Conference.As per the MoU, the two countries will enhance their cooperation on meeting the requirements of international maritime carriage, the complete and efficient use of maritime fleet of both countries, ensuring safety and security at the sea, rising of level of protection of marine environment and the prevention of ship-source pollution, and cooperation on maritime transport, science, technologies and sharing the obtained experience.The MoU reflects the Ministry of Transport’s commitment to fostering international cooperation in maritime transportation and creating a marine environment that is safe and sustainable in step with the goals of the QNV 2030.Following the signing ceremony, the two officials discussed bilateral relations in the areas of transportation, and ways to enhance them, particularly regarding maritime navigation and ports.

Minister of Transport meets Egypt's Minister of Civil Aviation, Canada's Deputy Minister of Transport

His Excellency Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Thani met separately with the Minister of Civil Aviation of the Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Sameh Ahmed El Hafny and Deputy Minister of Transport of Canada Arun Thangaraj, on the sidelines of Qatar's participation in the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The meetings discussed aspects of cooperation between Qatar and each of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Canada in areas of civil aviation and ways to enhance and develop them, particularly air transportation related activities.

Transport minister meets Saudi counterpart

HE Minister of Transport Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Mohammed al-Thani met with Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Eng Saleh bin Nasser al-Jasser Thursday.The two ministers discussed aspects of bilateral co-operation in transportation, and ways to propel them to new heights, particularly in logistic services that support that vital industry.They also discussed the common opportunities that can be utilized by the two countries thanks to their unique geographical locations, thereby enhancing their leading regional and international positions in sustainable transportation.The meeting was attended by HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport Mohammed Abdullah al-Maadeed, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the State of Qatar Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan al-Saud, Vice-Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr Rumaih bin Mohammed al-Rumaih, and several other officials from both sides.
