Japan successfully launched its new unmanned cargo spacecraft on Sunday aboard an H3 launch vehicle from a space center on a southwestern island, carrying supplies to the International Space Station (ISS).The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) said the HTV-X1 spacecraft lifted off atop the No. 7 H3 rocket from the Tanegashima Space Center in southern Japan.JAXA confirmed that the spacecraft successfully separated from the rocket and entered its planned orbit. If all goes as scheduled, it is expected to arrive at the ISS within a few days to deliver supplies. Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui, currently aboard the ISS, is expected to capture the craft with a robotic arm early Thursday.The HTV-X spacecraft has a maximum payload capacity of six tons — 1.5 times greater than its predecessor, the Kounotori — which delivered supplies to the ISS nine times between 2009 and 2020, according to JAXA.

China on Monday sent two new test satellites into space from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan. The test satellites, Shiyan-30 01 and 02, were launched at 11:00 a.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a Long March-2D carrier rocket and entered their preset orbits successfully, according to China's News Agency (Xinhua). The satellites will be mainly used for experimental verification of Earth observation technologies. The launch marked the 598th flight mission of the Long March series carrier rockets.

The third edition of the Web Summit Qatar, scheduled for February 1, is witnessing a strong demand for participation, more than four months before its launch, with expectations of attracting approximately 30,000 participants from more than 120 countries. This came during the meeting of the Web Summit Permanent Organising Committee today in Qatar, chaired by HE Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO) Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani. The Committee received reports on significant demand for exhibition space, tickets, masterclasses and speaking opportunities, more than four months ahead of the event. China launched a new remote sensing satellite from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in the southern island province of Hainan on Tuesday.The Yaogan-45 satellite was launched aboard a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket. It has entered the preset orbit successfully, according to (Xinhua) news agency.It will be mainly used for scientific experiments, land resource surveys, crop yield estimates, and disaster prevention and relief work.The launch was the 594th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.Meanwhile, a smart Dragon-3 rocket lifted off on Tuesday morning from east China's Shandong Province, sending the Geely-05 constellation satellites into planned orbits.
