 Qatar University (QU), through the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the College of Business and Economics, in partnership with HyperThink Systems, concluded the Qatar Entrepreneurship Awards (QEA) Award Day, recognising entrepreneurs and startups contributing to Qatar’s digital economy and innovation ecosystem. The ceremony brought together industry leaders, innovators, investors, and policymakers to celebrate achievements across key sectors, including fintech, healthtech, e-commerce, sustainability, and entrepreneurial excellence. The awards serve as a national platform to promote ICT and digital entrepreneurship, support high-potential ventures, and strengthen collaboration across the country’s startup ecosystem. The initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 by supporting human development through inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs, economic development through innovation and startup growth, and sustainable development through solutions that address national priorities. It also reflects QU’s strategic role in advancing knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship to support the country’s transition to a knowledge-based economy. The ceremony also provided a platform for networking, knowledge exchange, and the strengthening of connections among startups, investors, and industry stakeholders, reinforcing Qatar’s position as a growing hub for entrepreneurship in the region. Centre director Dr Khalid al-Hashimi said: “Each year, we see promising ideas and ventures that reflect the creativity, resilience, and ambition shaping Qatar’s future economy. We are proud to support innovators who are developing impactful solutions and contributing to a thriving knowledge-based society.” Awdesh Chetal, CEO of HyperThink Systems, said: “As CEO of HyperThink Systems, I’m inspired by the bold talent at this year’s Entrepreneurship Awards. Qatar’s startups aren’t just adapting to the AI era; they’re shaping it.” Maisoun Sewailem, senior pre-incubation specialist at the Centre for Entrepreneurship and project lead for the Qatar Entrepreneurship Awards, said: “Young people bring boundless creativity and fresh perspectives; many of their ideas have the potential to become tomorrow’s successful startups. By recognising and supporting school-aged innovators early, we support the next generation of entrepreneurs and strengthen Qatar’s future as a knowledge-driven, digitally led economy. We must continue to encourage, mentor, and provide opportunities for these young talents to turn their ideas into impactful ventures.” The ceremony recognised winners across multiple categories for their contributions to innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation in the country. In the startup categories, Shipbee was named Delivery Startup of the Year in the E-Commerce category, while Eshfaa won HealthTech Startup of the Year. RFxAI was recognised as DeepTech Startup of the Year, Revio Technologies as Sustainability Startup of the Year, ALT DRX as FinTech Startup of the Year, and MuallemI as EduTech Startup of the Year. Bevol won Social Entrepreneur of the Year, while Avey was named Startup of the Year. In the individual awards, Mohab Mohamed Kamal, founder and CEO of ConnectED, received the Youth Entrepreneur of the Year award. Thuraya Nasser al-Mulla, founder and CEO of Receipts, was named Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, while Ghanim al-Sulaiti, founder and CEO of Enbat Group, received the Entrepreneur of the Year award. The Ecosystem Enablers Award recognised Marcel Dridje, Startup Ecosystem advisor at the European Business Angel Network; Michael Lints, founding partner MENA at Golden Gate Ventures; Dr Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, president of the Young Entrepreneurs Club; Hamad Mubarak al-Hajri, founder and CEO of Snoonu; and HE Fahad Bin Mohammed al-Attiyah, founder and CEO of Caravane Earth Foundation. 

"Scale7", supported by QDB, announced the launch of its newly expanded identity under the title "Scale7, the Creative and Cultural Industries Hub" to become a comprehensive national platform that brings together creators, innovators and experts in the creative and cultural fields under one roof and to provide them customised with support packages, which contributes to economic diversification and supports the Qatar's position as a global centre for culture and creative industries.The hub provides an interactive space for work and collaboration between entrepreneurs and provides them with advanced facilities and tools via the Digital Fabrication Lab to test their creative ideas and implement their innovative projects. It also provides financial and advisory services and specialised programmes to incubate and accelerate businesses, contributing to the support of six different creative and cultural sectors, including advertising, digital product design and related crafts, fashion technology, the digital game industry, language technologies, and literature."Scale7, the Creative and Cultural Industries Hub" also offers Integrated programmes that include projects at various stages, from initial concept to global expansion, in addition to providing investment opportunities, capacity building, access to broad networks of local and international partners, and a range of other support services to facilitate the entry of companies and investors into the Qatari market and enable their regional and global growth and expansion.This announcement builds on years of achievements and successes, as "Scale7" has collaborated with 88 startups to date, that worked with a network of more than 80 advisors and experts from Qatar and around the world, and providing support exceeding QR13.5mn through investment, as well as advisory and in-kind support.QDB continues to develop the support packages offered to the business sector across various fields, with the aim of strengthening the private sector, increasing its contribution to the national economy, and supporting the development of a resilient, knowledge-based economy. 

Young innovators and Qatar’s youth have benefitted from the hands-on learning experience they gained at the recently held Rowad 2025, organised by Qatar Development Bank (QDB) under the theme ‘Beyond Boundaries: Scaling, Sustaining, and Succeeding’. During the three-day event, Innovation firm Ibtechar reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young innovators and cultivating a mindset of AI-driven entrepreneurship through various activities.As part of its youth-focused initiatives, Ibtechar organised the interactive workshop ‘Smart Startups: Using AI to Launch and Run Your Business’, in collaboration with its strategic partner, AI Crafters, which has a strong focus on the advancement, adoption and use of AI in professional environments.Delivered by Karima Rahali-Sebti, AI Crafters’ leading AI expert in the GCC, the one-hour session introduced university students to the potential of AI as a startup co-founder, demonstrating how technologies, such as Generative AI, are reshaping how startups are conceived, validated, and scaled.Emphasising Ibtechar’s dedication to building the capabilities of young people and equipping them to become tomorrow’s innovators, co-founder and CEO, Engineer Nayef al-Ibrahim, said: “AI is not just a tool, it is a transformative force that is redefining innovation and entrepreneurship, enabling young minds to create, scale, and lead in ways that were never possible before.” “Through our strategic partnership with AI Crafters and participation in platforms like Rowad, we are proud to empower youth to harness AI’s full potential and shape the future of Qatar’s innovation landscape,” he told Gulf Times in a statement. Through real-world demonstrations, participants explored how AI can accelerate business planning, market analysis, and customer engagement.They worked with leading AI tools to create visuals, draft business plans, and design AI-powered systems for outreach, lead generation, and nurturing. A highlight of the session was the ‘30-Day AI Startup Action Plan’, a structured roadmap that guides students in transforming ideas into viable prototypes within four weeks.The plan encouraged participants to apply what they learnt in real-world entrepreneurial contexts, promoting creativity, discipline, and accountability. Beyond technical skills, the workshop emphasised ethical and responsible AI adoption, encouraging participants to approach innovation with awareness and purpose.The initiative also highlighted Ibtechar’s role in building national innovation capacity and supporting the objectives of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030. Morad el-Mazyani, co-founder and CEO of AI Crafters, said: “Qatar’s commitment to innovation and AI makes it an inspiring place for us to contribute. Our collaboration with Ibtechar brings global expertise to a thriving innovation ecosystem and empowers young entrepreneurs to apply AI in meaningful, responsible ways.”
