QIIB net profit reaches QR713mn in H1 with 3.5% growth rate

QIIB achieved a net profit of QR713mn in H1 2026 compared to QR689mn in H1 2025, representing a growth rate of 3.5%.Earnings per share (EPS) reached QR0.42. Total income reached QR1.61bn, while total assets reached QR63.8bn, representing a 5.4% growth rate by the end of H1 2026.Financing assets rose to QR44.1bn, a growth of 13.1%, while customer deposits reached QR43.1bn with a growth of 2.1%.QIIB vice-chairman and managing director Sheikh Abdullah bin Thani bin Abdullah al- Thani said, “The results for H1 2026 reflect the success of the strategy adopted by the board of directors, which is based on achieving balanced and sustainable growth while maintaining high levels of discipline in risk management, amid challenging global economic environment.“QIIB has maintained a balanced growth momentum, backed by the encouraging business environment and the high solvency that characterises the Qatari economy, particularly the promising opportunities it offers thanks to economic stability, prudent policies, and the wise guidance of the regulatory authorities.”QIIB CEO Dr Abdulbasit Ahmed al-Shaibei explained that the bank continued to enhance its outstanding operational efficiency, as the cost-to-income ratio stood at 19.7%.He said this remains one of the benchmark and outstanding ratios in the banking sector, confirming the bank’s success in improving operational efficiency, particularly with the increasing reliance on technological channels and digital banking solutions.With regard to asset quality indicators and the effectiveness of risk management policies, Dr al-Shaibei stated: “QIIB operates according to a proactive approach to risk management, as the non-performing financing (NPL) ratio remained at a low level of 2.54%, while the coverage ratio reached 100%, confirming the quality of the financing portfolio and the low levels of credit risk.”Dr al-Shaibei confirmed that the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) under Basel III requirements stood at 21.41% at the end of the H1 2026, exceeding the minimum limits required by regulatory authorities and the Qatar Central Bank. He said this reflects the robustness of the bank’s capital base and its high capacity to absorb various challenges and face potential risks with high resilience.He added: “The results for the H1 2026 confirm QIIB’s ability to achieve stable and sustainable performance, thanks to the diversification of income sources, the flexibility of our business model, and continuous innovation in services and products.“The past period witnessed the launch of several digital offers and services that received a wide positive response and enhanced our competitive position in the banking market.”

AlRayan Bank posts net profit of QR361mn in Q1; total assets jump 3.3% year-on-year

AlRayan Bank has reported net profit of QR361mn; translating into earnings-per-share of QR0.039 at the end of first quarter (Q1) ended March 2026.However, net earnings were down 11.4% year-on-year in the review period.Total assets increased by 3.3% year-on-year to QR174.96bn with financing assets gaining 0.7% to QR111.99bn in January-March 2026.Deposits stood at QR116bn in Q1-2026, showing a 3.9% growth on an annualised basis.“The group delivered a solid performance in Q1-2026, supported by the resilience of its core business lines and a disciplined approach to financial management. Despite ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty, the group maintained strong capital and liquidity positions, underpinned by robust governance and proactive risk management," said Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, chairman.Looking ahead, the group remains focused on disciplined execution of its strategy, operational resilience, and long‑term value creation, while continuing to deliver Shariah‑compliant solutions that support Qatar’s economic development, according to him.Indicating strong performance, the bank's efficiency (cost to income) ratio improved to 29.9% in Q1-2026 compared to 27.3% the previous year period.Non-performing assets ratio was down to 5.36% at the end of March 2026 against 5.37% a year-ago period.Capital adequacy ratio marginally improved to 25.9% in the first three months of this year compared to 25.46% the previous year period."We delivered a robust operating performance during the quarter, while remaining firmly committed to our customer‑centric strategy, without compromising on cost discipline or operational efficiency...This resilient result underscores the strength of our fundamentals and our continued focus on sustainable profitability. The bank’s liquidity and capital position remain strong,” said Fahad bin Abdulla al-Khalifa, Group chief executive officer.Finding that the global geopolitical environment in early 2026 remains complex amid regional tensions and macroeconomic uncertainty; the bank said it continues to proactively manage geopolitical risks, with a focus on operational resilience, liquidity, and capital strength.Strategic planning incorporates stress scenarios related to geopolitical volatility, profit rate movements, and market disruptions. Supported by a diversified business model and a strong balance sheet, the group remains well positioned to navigate uncertainty while focusing on long-term value creation, it added.
