New service brings Waqf projects closer to a wider community through the Snoonu appUsers can explore Waqf opportunities, choose their preferred projects and contribute digitallyThe General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Snoonu have partnered to launch a new Waqf contributions service through the Snoonu app, creating a new digital channel for individuals to discover and support Waqf projects across Qatar. The partnership brings together the General Directorate of Endowments’ expertise in managing and developing Waqf initiatives with Snoonu’s digital infrastructure and broad reach across the community. Through the new service, users can browse available Waqf projects and initiatives, learn more about their objectives, select the opportunity they wish to support, and complete their contribution securely using bank cards. The service will also allow Waqf projects and information to be regularly updated on the Snoonu platform, giving users access to current opportunities and enabling them to direct their contributions in line with their preferences and the conditions of their Waqf. The initiative supports the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ 2025–2030 strategy and its focus on innovation, institutional development, strategic partnerships and the digital transformation of services. For Snoonu, the partnership reflects its wider commitment to using technology to make national services and initiatives more accessible, building on its role as a technology partner in the digitalisation of national services, including Tamween.Bringing Waqf Closer to the Community Mr. Rashid Tuwaim Al Marri, Director of the Waqf Funds Affairs Department at the General Directorate of Endowments, said the partnership forms part of the Directorate’s efforts to expand and diversify the ways people can contribute to Waqf and make access to Waqf projects more convenient. He noted that making the service available through Snoonu opens an additional channel to a broad base of users, allowing them to discover different Waqf projects and complete their contributions digitally, while choosing where they would like their Waqf to be directed.
