Qatar Charity (QC) has implemented a series of economic empowerment initiatives and provided social assistance to vulnerable families and persons with disabilities in Memaliaj, southern Albania, with the support of donors in Qatar. The projects are aimed at improving living conditions and strengthening social and economic stability among vulnerable groups. The interventions focus on enabling low-income families to become more self-reliant through income-generating opportunities that enhance livelihoods and contribute to food security. They also seek to support people with disabilities and improve their quality of life, in line with a sustainable development approach that is centred on long-term impact. As part of the initiative, the QC distributed 38 electric ovens to underprivileged families and families of orphans. In addition, 26 agricultural machines were provided to households that rely on farming as their main source of income, helping to boost productivity and enhance food security. Several wheelchairs were also delivered to people with disabilities. The launch event was attended by Memaliaj mayor Albert Malaj along with municipal representatives, and Bledar Macka, the programme manager at Qatar Charity’s Albania Branch. Speaking at the event, Macka said that the projects reflect a practical response to the needs of vulnerable families, helping to improve their living standards and strengthen their productive capacity. Malaj expressed his appreciation for the QC’s continued support. 

Qatar Charity (QC) has launched a major humanitarian campaign titled “Every Refugee Tent Holds a Story” to mark World Refugee Day, which is observed annually on June 20. The initiative aims to shed light on the harsh realities faced by displaced populations worldwide, amplify their hopes for a better future, and deliver integrated relief and development aid to the most vulnerable communities. Aligning with global efforts to protect displaced people, the campaign focuses on safeguarding refugee rights and easing their daily hardships. By securing vital food, water, shelter, and medical care, the initiative works to restore basic living standards. Through this targeted push, the QC is mobilising both public and institutional support to ensure refugee families can rebuild their lives in safety, stability, and dignity. With the support of donors, the campaign targets refugees from several countries, including Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Myanmar (Rohingya refugees), Syria, and Palestine. These populations are hosted across several countries such as Pakistan, Ethiopia, Chad, Egypt, Kenya, Djibouti, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Jordan, Turkiye, and Lebanon. The campaign focuses on a wide range of humanitarian interventions. These include the provision of food, clean water, and sanitation services, as well as shelter support and non-food items. It also covers healthcare services, access to education for children, and programmes that strengthen refugees’ resilience and ability to cope with displacement conditions. These efforts aim to improve living conditions and help restore stability in their daily lives. Abdulaziz Jassim Hejji, the executive director of communications and community impact at the QC, urged donors and the public to support the cause. He noted that the suffering of refugees is a daily reality for families who have lost everything, adding that every donation brings hope and warmth back to camps exhausted by waiting. Refugee aid is a major part of the QC’s interventions. In 2025, the organisation spent QR645mn on relief projects, helping 10mn people globally. The largest portion of this aid went to urgent humanitarian situations in Palestine (including Gaza), Syria, and Sudan. Donors can contribute to the campaign through multiple convenient channels. Options include using the QC’s website or mobile app, calling the hotline at 44290000, or requesting a “Home Collector” through the application. Donations are also accepted in person at Qatar Charity branches and collection booths inside local shopping malls.

Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for co-operation with Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ministry of displaced persons and refugees to implement joint development projects aimed at supporting returnees and improving their living conditions.The agreement was signed by Mohammed Washan, the director of the QC’s Bosnia and Herzegovina branch, and Bosnia’s Federal Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees Nerin Dizdar, in the presence of Hassan Mohd al-Naemi, general supervisor of the QC’s Bosnia and Herzegovina branch.During the meeting, both sides reviewed Qatar Charity’s ongoing activities in the country and discussed opportunities to strengthen co-operation.This agreement reflects the QC’s vision to expand its humanitarian and development work by meeting real needs, especially by supporting returnees and strengthening economic empowerment, helping achieve stability and sustainable return.Al-Naemi highlighted the importance of the partnership in expanding Qatar Charity’s humanitarian and development work, reaffirming the organisation’s commitment to ensuring effective implementation and maximising impact.Washan emphasised that partnerships with government entities play a key role in improving the efficiency of project delivery and ensuring assistance reaches those most in need.Dizdar expressed appreciation for Qatar’s continued support since 1994, noting that the MoU reflects a shared commitment to improving the conditions of returnees through projects in infrastructure, education, and economic empowerment. 

Thanks to generous donors, Qatar Charity (QC) continues its "Greatest Days" campaign, launched in conjunction with the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, by implementing Eid clothing distribution projects for thousands of sponsored orphans in 22 countries around the world, including Qatar. The purpose is to bring joy to their hearts and share with them the happiness of the upcoming Eid al-Adha. In a press release yesterday, the QC stated that this project is part of its ongoing commitment to caring for orphans and supporting their families, as part of the "Rofaqa" initiative and seasonal campaign projects.It works by providing children's essential needs during Eid seasons, helping to ease the financial burden on beneficiary families and strengthening values of solidarity and compassion. In Djibouti, 600 sponsored children benefited from the project, where the children expressed great happiness upon receiving their new Eid clothes.In Sri Lanka, Eid al-Adha clothing was distributed to 250 sponsored orphans in the eastern region of Ampara. The children received shopping vouchers that allowed them, accompanied by their guardians, to purchase Eid clothing from a store of their choice. **media[449917]** This flexible experience enhanced their sense of inclusion and self-confidence while also bringing joy to their hearts. The orphan beneficiaries expressed their happiness. Muhammad Ayman Nafea said the clothes were beautiful and made him happy for Eid, while Muhammad Irshad Inshika Shazin noted that this was the first time he had received more than one Eid outfit, expressing his gratitude to his sponsors and donors. In a related effort, 686 Eid clothing cards were distributed to sponsored orphans from Syrian refugees and members of the host community in southern Turkiye ahead of Eid al-Adha.Iman Nasan, social care co-ordinator at the Turkiye office, explained that the project aims to involve orphans in the joy of Eid and give them the opportunity to choose their own clothing, which enhances their sense of independence and self-confidence. In Mauritania, Eid clothing was distributed to 250 sponsored orphans, boys and girls equally, with the packages including clothes, toys, and dolls. **media[449918]** Mothers of the orphans expressed their gratitude to the generous donors and the association's office in Nouakchott. Salma Abdullah said that this kind gesture came at the right time, as it brought joy to her children on the occasion of Eid, praying that God continues to bless Qatar with security and prosperity.In Pakistan, the QC office distributed Eid al-Adha clothing to 350 sponsored orphans in the Kashmir region, including new clothes and shoes. In Niger and Mali, QC offices distributed Eid clothing to 500 orphans (250 in each country). The QC's "Greatest Days" campaign for the year 1447 AH includes the implementation of the Eid Clothing Project for orphans in around 21 countries worldwide.The project targets thousands of orphans sponsored by generous donors through the QC, with a total cost of approximately QR2.5mn, and is expected to benefit around 8,200 children by providing them with essential Eid supplies. In Qatar, the QC's "Al-Aqraboon Centre" is implementing the "Eidiyah" project, which provides Eid essentials for 1,500 children from orphans and low-income families.As such, the QC calls on generous donors during the remaining blessed days of Dhul-Hijjah to engage with the "Greatest Days" campaign and contribute to its projects, including Eid clothing, through its various easy donation channels.

 The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Qatar Charity (QC), and Sidra Medicine have concluded a specialised medical convoy for paediatric cardiac surgery and catheterisation in Yemen.Over one week, the volunteer team of medical professionals has been performing medical examinations, interventions, and life-saving surgeries for many children with congenital heart defects. The mission was more than successful, with a total of 107 free medical interventions for children (86 cardiac catheterisations and 21 open-heart surgeries) performed by the visiting consultant and specialist cardiologists, who were assisted by the medical staff at the Cardiovascular and Kidney Transplant Centre in Taiz. In terms of capacity-building, the programme involved a specialised training workshop for the medical staff at the host centre on ultrasound-guided arterial catheterisation techniques, to increase their skills and enhance the quality of medical services provided for critical cases, particularly in paediatrics. During the closing ceremony, the medical team was recognised for their dedicated efforts to serve and take care of the Yemeni children with heart conditions. The ceremony also honoured the representatives of the three partners – the QRCS, QC, and Sidra Medicine – whose contributions helped make this medical project a significant success.The organisers praised the level of co-ordination with local authorities and medical facilities in Yemen. They emphasised that such effective humanitarian partnerships help overcome the challenges facing the Yemeni health sector and give patients, especially children, a fresh hope for having a normal and stable life. Eng. Ahmed al-Sharaji, the head of the QRCS representation office in Yemen, said: “This medical convoy represents the QRCS’s commitment to providing continued and diverse humanitarian assistance for the people of Yemen, especially in healthcare.” “Together with our partners, we work to support Yemeni health facilities, bridge the gap in financial and human resources, and make them able to keep serving the population,” he said. “Also, transfer of expertise and capacity-building ensure sustainable and better healthcare for patients in the long term.” Dr Abdullah al-Nuaim, the director of the QC’s office in Yemen, commended that achievement. “We are proud of what we have accomplished, alongside our partners at the QRCS,” he said. “This joint humanitarian intervention was not just a one-time response, but rather a practical manifestation of our 2026-30 strategy, which deals with empowerment, sustainability, and maximised impact at top priorities.” “Today, we are working to deliver health projects that not only meet immediate needs but also leave a lasting developmental impact that makes a real difference in the lives of the most vulnerable people in Yemen,” Dr al-Nuaim added. “This convoy sought to alleviate the suffering of children with weak hearts, allowing them to live normally like other children.” “This medical project was an essential humanitarian opportunity to perform over 100 major medical interventions for sick children within a short timeframe, with a view to improving their lives and reshaping their future,” said project manager Dr Monira al-Aini. “We focused on the highest quality and safety standards, while engaging local medical professionals throughout, helping to develop their expertise and upgrade paediatric cardiac surgery and catheterisation services in the country.” The success of the medical convoy was the outcome of cumulative efforts and fruitful partnership.Earlier, the QRCS and QC had supported the Cardiovascular and Kidney Transplant Centre in Taiz with state-of-the-art cardiac catheterisation equipment. As a result, the centre increased its capacity and performed more diagnostic and interventional catheterisation procedures free of charge for children and older people.This, by extension, helped ease the financial and health burden on poor patients.
