Qatar has sent its ninth identical letter to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Permanent Representative of the US to the United Nations (UN) and President of the UN Security Council (UNSC) for the month of March, Michael Waltz, regarding the latest developments of the Iranian aggression on its territory. The letter was sent by Her Excellency the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif al-Thani. The letter noted that from the beginning of the attack on Qatar on February 28 until March 16, its air defence systems have intercepted several hostile aerial targets, pointing out that civilian injuries resulted from these heinous attacks. It stated that all damages and losses resulting from the attacks will be assessed by the relevant authorities, noting that further updates would be provided as they become available. The letter emphasised that these attacks by Iran continued even after the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 2817 (2026), co-sponsored by 136 countries, which condemned in the strongest terms Iran’s heinous attacks on Qatar and neighbouring countries, and demanded an immediate end to all such attacks. It also reiterated Qatar’s strong condemnation of this targeting and its full right to respond in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, a right affirmed by Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), in a manner commensurate with the nature of the aggression, in defence of its sovereignty and to safeguard its security and national interests.Qatar also requested that this letter be circulated as an official document of the Security Council. 

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein of Jordan discussed, at the Amiri Diwan Tuesday afternoon, developments in the region in the light of the current escalation and the continued Iranian aggression targeting Qatar, Jordan, and a number of countries in the region.  In this context, HH the Amir affirmed Qatar's solidarity with Jordan regarding all measures it takes to defend its sovereignty and security and to ensure the safety of its citizens.  King Abdullah renewed his country's solidarity and full support for all measures taken by Qatar to preserve its sovereignty, security, and stability.  The two sides expressed their rejection of these attacks and stressed the need for an immediate cessation of all military actions that could expand the conflict and endanger the security of countries and their peoples.  They also emphasised the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to de-escalate and contain the ongoing tensions, and to work through diplomatic channels and dialogue to address existing crises in a way that helps prevent further deterioration in the region and enhances prospects for security and stability.  Both sides also discussed a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern, stressing the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries, especially in light of current developments and their implications for the region's security and stability.  HH the Amir and the Jordanian king also held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed relations between the two sisterly countries and ways to develop them, in addition to exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, foremost among them the current crisis and its repercussions on global peace and security.  His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani and His Excellency Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Khulaifi attended the session, along with a lineup of Their Excellencies senior officials.  Their Excellencies members of the delegation accompanying the king were also in attendance from the Jordanian side. Earlier, HH the Amir led the welcome and farewell accorded to King Abdullah upon his arrival and departure, along with his accompanying delegation at the Doha International Airport. HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Khulaifi was also present.

The Shura Council has commended, during its regular weekly session Monday at its headquarters in the Tamim Bin Hamad Hall under the chairmanship of His Excellency the Speaker of the Council Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanim, the steadfastness and cohesion of Qatari society in facing the "blatant Iranian aggression" to which Qatar has been subjected since February 28.The Council praised the role of the Qatari Armed Forces and all security agencies in demonstrating full readiness and a high degree of professionalism in safeguarding the nation, protecting its territorial integrity, and maintaining the security and stability of society.The Council affirmed that national unity and social cohesion constitute the first line of defence in the face of challenges, stressing that "our true strength lies in solidarity, collective resolve, and confronting adversity with a spirit of national responsibility”.The Council emphasised that this national unity remains the fundamental pillar upon which the country relies to overcome crises and challenges, achieve comprehensive development across all sectors, and safeguard its achievements and gains.The Council further affirmed that, despite the difficult circumstances and challenges, conditions in the country remain stable, thanks to the grace of Almighty God and the efforts of the esteemed government under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.These directives, the Council noted, have resulted in the implementation of a carefully designed and well-co-ordinated action plan, alongside prudent measures that have ensured the uninterrupted delivery of services across all sectors, while continuously monitoring developments and responding to them promptly.The Council highlighted that popular solidarity, national awareness, support for state institutions, and the prioritisation of national interests during this period collectively represent essential factors in strengthening the country's ability to confront the aggression and safeguard its national interests.The Shura Council reiterated its strongest condemnation and denunciation of the Iranian aggression against Qatar, describing it as a flagrant violation of Qatar's sovereignty, a direct assault on its security, territorial integrity, and national interests, and a blatant breach of international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and established moral norms.The Council stressed that the repeated Iranian attacks involving ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles endanger civilian populations and target vital state infrastructure, including facilities linked to water and food security.It noted that 65% of these attacks have targeted civilian facilities and energy installations in Qatar.The Council categorically rejected any justification for the Iranian attacks against Qatar, affirming that such actions cannot be accepted under any pretext.It underscored that Qatar has been among the first countries to advocate dialogue with Iran and has exerted considerable efforts to facilitate such dialogue between Iran and the international community.This, the Council stated, reflects Qatar's longstanding policy that disputes and conflicts should be resolved through peaceful means, mediation, and negotiations.The Council expressed strong dismay at Iran's continued targeting of Qatar’s territory, stating that such actions reflect ill intent and treachery, contradict the principles of good neighbourliness, and undermine the foundations of understanding upon which bilateral relations between the two countries have been built over past decades.It called on Iran to cease its aggression against Qatar, adopt the language of wisdom and reason, preserve regional security, and spare the peoples of the region from further risks.The Shura Council welcomed the UN resolution issued last Wednesday condemning Iranian attacks on countries in the region, including Qatar, and calling for the immediate cessation of all such attacks, as well as an end to provocations or threats against neighbouring states, including through the use of proxies.The Council stressed the necessity for the international community, as well as regional and international parliamentary unions and organisations, to assume their legal and moral responsibilities in halting what it described as the grave and ongoing violations of the sovereignty of Qatar and other countries in the region, and to work toward containing the crisis in a manner that preserves regional and global security.The Council warned of the serious repercussions of Iranian attacks on regional and international security and stability.It cited Iranian threats to maritime security and the movement of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, saying that such have had far-reaching consequences for global energy security, the stability of the international economy, and the sustainability of global supply chains, leading to what it described as the largest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market.The Council also referred to a recent announcement by the World Food Programme warning that disruptions to supply chains threaten the food security of millions of people in the Middle East.During the session, HE the Speaker al-Ghanim, on behalf of the Council, extended his congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir on the approaching occasion of Eid al-Fitr, for continued health and well-being, and to return this blessed occasion to the people of Qatar and all residents with goodness, prosperity, and blessings, while preserving Qatar's security and stability.Following this, His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Shura Council Nayef bin Mohammed al-Mahmoud read the session's agenda.The Council then discussed the listed items and took the appropriate decisions regarding them. 

His Excellency Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al‑Thani, held a series of phone calls with Their Excellencies interior ministers of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states to discuss the latest regional developments following the Iranian aggression against Qatar and other countries in the region.The discussions focused on strengthening joint security coordination and unifying Gulf positions to confront any threat to the security and stability of their member states. The ministers underscored the principle of collective Gulf security and the importance of solidarity in protecting the region and its people.The phone calls were received from UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt.-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed al-Nahyan; Bahrain Minister of Interior General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdulla al-Khalifa; Saudi Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz al-Saud; Omani Minister of Interior Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al-Busaidi; and Kuwaiti First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud al-Sabah.HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al‑Thani expressed his gratitude to his GCC counterparts for their solidarity and fraternal support, praising the high level of coordination among the region’s security institutions.In a related development, Qatar participated yesterday in the joint ministerial meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the United Kingdom held via videoconference.HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi represented Qatar at the meeting, which reviewed regional developments and affirmed the commitment of the GCC and the United Kingdom to maintaining regional security, stability, and coordinated diplomatic engagement.  

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received a phone call Wednesday from Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. At the outset of the call, the Swedish Prime Minister voiced solidarity with Qatar regarding the continued Iranian aggression, stressing his country's condemnation of this aggression.  He also expressed his appreciation for the care and attention provided by the competent authorities in Qatar to Swedish residents.  HH the Amir expressed his thanks and appreciation to the premier for Sweden's solidarity and support for Qatar and its people.  The two sides also discussed developments in the region and their repercussions on regional and international security and stability. They stressed the importance of de-escalation, prioritising political solutions through dialogue and diplomatic means, and supporting international efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability and preserving regional and international peace.  HH the Amir also received a phone call Wednesday from The Netherlands King Willem-Alexander, who expressed reassurance regarding the situation in Qatar in the wake of recent developments following the Iranian aggression, emphasising that The Netherlands backs Qatar and stands in full solidarity with it.  He considered this aggression a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of Qatar and other nations in the region. The king praised the role of the Qatar Armed Forces in repelling the Iranian aggression, and lauded the efforts being undertaken by the relevant authorities in Qatar in dealing with these developments.  He hailed Qatar's role as a fair and reliable mediator in regional and global issues.  HH the Amir expressed his thanks to the king for his support and solidarity with Qatar, reassuring him of the care and well-being of Dutch nationals residing in the country.  Both sides underscored the criticality of de-escalation in the region and of upholding diplomacy and peaceful solutions as an overriding priority. They stressed that dialogue remains the only way to address crises and achieve security and stability in the region and the world.

Guided by the steadfast leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar has demonstrated remarkable unity, discipline, and preparedness in the face of repeated Iranian aggression. Chairing the Cabinet’s regular session at the Amiri Diwan Wednesday, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani led ministers in affirming the country’s collective strength under HH the Amir’s direction.  The Cabinet praised the Qatar Armed Forces for their decisive and professional action in countering successive Iranian attacks targeting several regions across the country. The ministers commended the forces’ exceptional readiness, coordination with security and civil authorities, and their unwavering commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity.  The Cabinet lauded the Ministry of Interior and all relevant agencies for their round-the-clock efforts to maintain public safety, ensure service continuity, and monitor the evolving security situation.  Reiterating Qatar’s categorical condemnation of the Iranian assault, the Cabinet described the attack as a flagrant violation of sovereignty and a direct act of aggression inconsistent with the principles of good neighborliness.  It reaffirmed Qatar’s right to respond under international law and defend its national interests, while maintaining its principled stance in favor of dialogue and peaceful conflict resolution. The ministers also extended Qatar’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan — nations that were likewise targeted — affirming support for any measures they take to safeguard their stability.  The Cabinet expressed deep appreciation to friendly and allied nations for their firm solidarity and strong condemnation of the attacks, acknowledging their genuine concern for Qatar’s security and sovereignty.  Briefing the session, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan al-Thani reported on the success of ongoing operations. He confirmed that the country’s air defence systems, fighter aircraft, and early warning mechanisms are functioning at peak capacity, underlining the armed forces’ complete capability to repel external threats and protect Qatar’s skies and terrain.  His Excellency Minister of Interior, Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and Chairman of the Civil Defense Council Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani assured the Cabinet that the internal security situation remains stable and fully under control. He highlighted the tight coordination between security bodies and civil agencies to protect citizens, residents, and visitors, emphasising the continuity of essential services and swift on-ground engagement by response teams.  In follow-up briefings, several ministers presented updates on vital sectors including food security, energy, health, education, transportation, environment, and cybersecurity. The Cabinet expressed confidence in the nation’s readiness across these fronts, noting the robustness of the strategic reserves of food, medicine, and basic commodities, and the smooth flow of supply chains to meet domestic needs.  Echoing HH the Amir’s directives, the Cabinet reaffirmed that all state institutions are working in total alignment — defence and home affairs, civil and economic sectors alike — anchored by unwavering resolve to protect Qatar’s sovereignty, security, and the wellbeing of its people.

The Ministry of Defence has disclosed the full scale of its military response since the start of Iranian aggression, confirming that its air defence systems have successfully intercepted the vast majority of aerial and missile attacks launched against the country.In a comprehensive tally, the military confirmed the interception of two SU-24 fighter jets, three cruise missiles, 98 out of 101 ballistic missiles, and 24 out of 39 drones. Among the intercepted threats were two ballistic missiles that targeted several areas within Qatar, both of which were neutralised before reaching Qatari territory. The ministry stressed that the threat was identified and engaged immediately upon detection, in line with pre-approved operational plans."Qatar Armed Forces possess full capabilities and resources to safeguard and defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and to respond firmly to any external threat," the ministry said.Separately, Qatar's International Media Office moved to rebuff a Bloomberg report suggesting that the Qatar Armed Forces' inventory of Patriot interceptor missiles had been depleted, calling the claim flatly false.In a pointed statement, the Office said the Patriot stockpile "has not been depleted and remains well-stocked," adding that the Armed Forces "remain at full readiness to protect all citizens, residents, and visitors for as long as necessary." The Office called the publication of such claims without official verification "deeply irresponsible, especially during this fast-moving and highly sensitive period," and said it was reviewing legal options to have the misinformation corrected.On the domestic security front, the Ministry of Interior has been issuing a steady stream of directives urging the public to remain indoors and leave their homes only when absolutely necessary, keeping away from windows and exposed areas. Residents are being told to follow instructions exclusively from official sources and to avoid spreading unverified information.Security agencies, the Ministry of Interior confirmed, are conducting continuous field operations through an integrated command system in close coordination with all relevant authorities, maintaining the highest levels of readiness as the situation continues to evolve.

In the wake of Iran's attacks on Qatar, an outpouring of international solidarity reached Doha as heads of state and government from across the globe reached out to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to express their support, condemn the aggression and reaffirm their countries' commitment to Qatar's security and stability. The calls reflected the breadth of Qatar's diplomatic relationships and a shared conviction that dialogue, de-escalation and diplomacy must guide the path forward.His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani received a phone call Monday from Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres.The UN chief condemned the recent attacks on Qatar, describing them as a violation of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and affirming Qatar's status as a strong and valued partner of the UN.HH the Amir expressed his appreciation for the UN Secretary-General's positions and the UN efforts in promoting international peace and security, stressing the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to contain the crisis and prevent further escalation in the region.Both sides emphasised the necessity of prioritising political dialogue and the diplomatic track as the best way to contain the current situation and preserve regional security and stability.In this context, they discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, international efforts to achieve a ceasefire, and the importance of intensifying efforts to halt the escalation, provide protection for civilians, and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip in light of the current challenges.Russian President Vladimir Putin was among the leaders who reached out, conveying his country's solidarity with Qatar and signalling Moscow's readiness to provide any form of support needed to overcome the fallout of the attacks and reinforce Qatar's security and stability.HH the Amir expressed his thanks for the Russian president's sentiments and the strong bonds of bilateral friendship. The two leaders discussed regional developments, agreeing on the primacy of dialogue and negotiations in reducing tensions, and also reviewed ways to further strengthen the strategic relationship between their two countries.Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni offered Rome's unequivocal condemnation of the Iranian aggression and voiced Italy's solidarity with Qatar and its people during what she described as exceptional circumstances. HH the Amir thanked her for the gesture and the strong bilateral relationship it reflects. The two leaders aligned on the need to pursue de-escalation and elevate political dialogue as the primary instrument for resolving the crisis.Prime Minister Viktor Orbán conveyed Budapest's firm support for Qatar, condemning the Iranian aggression and affirming Hungary's backing for any measures Doha takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security and stability. HH the Amir expressed appreciation for Hungary's solidarity. The two leaders discussed the broader regional security implications of the situation, stressing the importance of political solutions through intensified diplomatic engagement.Swiss Confederation President Guy Parmelin called HH the Amir to inquire about the situation in Qatar following the Iranian attacks, voicing Bern's condemnation of the aggression and its solidarity with Qatar. Switzerland, he affirmed, stands ready to support all efforts that would bolster Qatar's security and stability. HH the Amir expressed his gratitude for the President's sentiments and the spirit of friendship and co-operation that characterises relations between the two countries.Acting President Delcy Rodríguez of Venezuela also reached out to HH the Amir, inquiring about sitaution in Qatar in the aftermath of the attacks and reiterating Caracas' solidarity with Doha. She took the opportunity to express Venezuela's appreciation for Qatar's longstanding supportive positions toward the Venezuelan people — a gesture HH the Amir warmly acknowledged, along with his appreciation for the Acting President's solidarity.The two sides exchanged views on the repercussions of the regional situation, converging on the need to halt escalation and uphold security and stability at both the regional and international levels.President Vjosa Osmani Sadriu of Kosovo contacted HH the Amir to inquire about the situation following the Iranian aggression, offering Pristina's unequivocal condemnation of the attacks and affirming Kosovo's full solidarity with Qatar in whatever measures it deems necessary to protect its sovereignty, security and stability. The president also took the occasion to express her country's gratitude for Qatar's continued support for Kosovo — a reflection of the mutual regard that underpins relations between the two states. HH the Amir thanked President Osmani Sadriu for her sentiments and the close cooperative ties the two countries enjoy.Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia similarly contacted HH the Amir to inquire about the situation in Qatar, expressing confidence in Qatar's resilience and reiterating Addis Ababa's full support. HH the Amir warmly acknowledged the close ties between the two nations. Both sides echoed a common refrain — that constructive dialogue and diplomatic action remain the surest path to containing the crisis and preserving regional stability.President Dr Mohamed Muizzu of the Maldives rounded out the series of calls, condemning the attacks and affirming his country's full solidarity with Qatar. HH the Amir expressed sincere gratitude and acknowledged the deep-rooted ties between the two nations. 

The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 2023 has risen to 72,070 martyrs, in addition to 171,738 injured. The Ministry of Health in Gaza stated Saturday that hospitals across the Strip received, over the past 48 hours up to this moment, one martyr and 10 injured individuals.  It added that a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defencse crews are still unable to reach them. The ministry further reported that the total number of casualties since the ceasefire last October has risen to 612 martyrs and 1,640 injured, while 726 bodies have been recovered.
