MoC to hold Tajikistan Cultural Week activities from today

The Ministry of Culture (MoC) will host the activities of the Tajikistan Cultural Week Sunday, as part of Qatar’s vision to promote civilisational dialogue, expand cultural exchange with various countries, and to establish culture as a shared space for human interaction. The Tajikistan Cultural Week will continue until February 10, offering an exceptional experience in the realms of Tajik culture and arts. The Tajikistan Cultural Week represents a significant milestone in the bilateral relations between Qatar and Tajikistan, reflecting the positive developments in these relations, particularly in the cultural field, which is one of the most prominent bridges of understanding and closeness between the two friendly countries. The week’s programme includes a diverse array of events showcasing the richness and variety of Tajik culture, including traditional fashion shows, musical evenings, handicraft exhibitions, visual arts contributions, and other various activities. These cultural weeks are part of a continuous cultural journey that has achieved notable prominence in recent years. The current season continues this approach by hosting Tajikistan, followed by the Russian Cultural Week next Wednesday, highlighting the diversity of cultural partnerships and the expanding openness to different cultures.

Foreign Ministers of Tajikistan, China discuss strengthening relations

Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields. They also reviewed a number of regional issues of common interest, most notably the situation in Afghanistan.The Chinese Foreign Minister stressed the need for Beijing and Dushanbe to strengthen their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, emphasizing China's commitment to enhancing its relations with Tajikistan from a strategic perspective and promoting high-quality Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).For his part, the Tajik Foreign Minister stated that relations between his country and China are based on mutual understanding, trust, and support, and have witnessed active cooperation in various fields.

President of Tajikistan arrives in Doha

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon arrived in Doha on Monday to participate in the Second World Summit for Social Development, hosted by the State of Qatar from 4 to 6 November.Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, Rahmon and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by HE Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ibrahim bin Yousif Fakhro and the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the State of Qatar, Nurmurod Mahmadali.

HH the Amir sends congratulations to President of Tajikistan

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani sent a cable of congratulations to HE President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on the anniversary of his country's Independence Day.

The agreement was signed during an official visit by a delegation led by Director-General, Fahad bin Hamad al-Sulaiti, in the presence of senior Tajik officials.

QFFD inks QR182mn loan pact to support Tajikistan infrastructure

Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) signed a loan agreement worth QR182mn with the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan to support the Rogun Hydropower Plant Project, aimed at strengthening the country's energy infrastructure and driving sustainable economic growth.In a statement Sunday, QFFD said the agreement was signed during an official visit by a delegation led by Director-General, Fahad bin Hamad al-Sulaiti, in the presence of senior Tajik officials.The delegation also undertook a tour of the Rogun Hydropower Plant site to assess the implementation stages, reflecting QFFD’s continued dedication to supporting the successful achievement of the project’s developmental goals.This initiative reflects QFFD's strategic focus on energy as a key driver of sustainable development, fostering economic resilience and supporting long-term growth and prosperity in Tajikistan.
