A record 3.79 million people attended WNBA games this season, according to a report by Sports Business Journal. It was a 4.5% boost in attendance from the 13 teams that played during the 2025 season but a 20% boost when adding the expansion Toronto Tempo and Portland Fire. The Atlanta Dream had the largest average attendance boost in terms of percentage, up 54.7% from 4,480 to 6,928. The Minnesota Lynx, who finished atop the standings but were ousted in the first round of the WNBA playoffs, had the largest leap in attendance numbers from 9,958 per game in 2025 to 12,351 this season. The Golden State Valkyries led the league in attendance, selling out every single game at the Chase Center in San Francisco (18,064) for the second time in as many seasons of the franchise's existence.Much of this attendance boom can be attributed to the 25 games which were relocated to larger arenas and averaged 15,743 fans, a 40% boost from games played in the usual arenas. In response to the increased demand, the Dream announced Tuesday that they will begin playing all their home games next season at State Farm Arena, the Atlanta Hawks' arena.
