Korean Multi-Purpose satellite successfully reaches Orbit

The Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) announced Tuesday that the Arirang-7 multi-purpose satellite successfully has reached its orbit after being launched from a spaceport in South America.In a statement, KASA said that the satellite separated from the Vega-C rocket 44 minutes after its launch from the Guiana Space Centre.The statement added that Arirang-7 is equipped with a high-resolution electro-optical camera and an infrared sensor, and will provide high-quality images for environmental monitoring and observation.

AJMN, Es’hailSat sign MoU

Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN) and Es’hailSat have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening co-operation in satellite communication services, ground station infrastructure, and crisis and disaster management systems, to ensure the continuity of services and the enhancement of operations. AJMN deputy director-general Ibrahim Abdulla al-Obaidli described the MoU as an important stage in the network’s ongoing efforts to remain up to date with new innovations and emerging technologies in the sector. It is, he said, an additional step towards expanding Al Jazeera’s broadcast reach and reinforcing its global presence, with the MoU contributing to strengthening existing co-operation between the AJMN and Es’hailSat in the field of satellite and terrestrial communications, ensuring continuity and reliability of services. “We fully understand Al Jazeera’s need for strategic infrastructure in ground stations, crisis management solutions, and business continuity systems,” said Es’hailSat president and chief executive Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari. “Our aim is to collaborate and support this initiative, not only to improve operational management, but also to enhance efficiency and resilience.” The agreement reflects the desire of both parties to collaborate, exchange expertise, and assess future projects, exploring and opening new horizons in television and radio broadcasting, news gathering, and other supporting services.

QU and Es’hailSat ink nano-satellite collaboration pact

Qatar University (QU) has signed a strategic co-operation agreement with the Qatar Satellite Company, Es’hailSat, during the events of the recent MWC25 conference and in a separate ceremony on its sidelines, it was announced Monday. The agreement aims to support the development and deployment of nano-satellite technology within the QU through a partnership that brings together the university’s research and academic capabilities with Es’hailSat’s leading expertise in operating and managing satellites. This collaboration, it was explained, represents a significant step toward strengthening Qatar’s presence in the space sector and supporting the development of national capabilities in this vital field. QU vice-president for Research and Graduate Studies Prof Aiman Erbad described the collaboration with Es’hailSat as a strategic step that reinforces university’s efforts in advancing nano-satellite technology and expanding the horizons of scientific research and innovation in the field of space. “We take pride in the fact that this partnership contributes to building exceptional national capabilities and strengthens Qatar’s presence in the space sector through pioneering projects that combine industrial expertise with academic excellence,” he said. Es’hailSat vice-president (Commercial) Hamad Omar al-Mannai said that the partnership aims to broaden the scope of scientific research and innovation within the space sector. “We take pride in contributing to the development of exceptional national capabilities and enhancing Qatar’s stature in the space industry through high-quality projects that merge industrial expertise with academic excellence,” he said. “Together, we are poised to make significant strides in this vital area of research and technological advancement.” The agreement outlined the launch of joint projects in the design, deployment, and operation of nano-satellite missions, with a focus on scientific research, technological development, and outreach in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The agreement also included the exchange of expertise, technical knowledge, and resources between both parties to ensure the success of future initiatives. The nano-satellite development initiative at the QU began in 2018, encompassing multidisciplinary student projects as well as research projects funded by the Qatar Research, Development & Innovation Programme. The QU hosts the country’s only academic satellite ground station, a key outcome of this initiative.

China launches 3 new satellites into space

China launched three new satellites into space Wednesday aboard a Long March-2C carrier rocket.The rocket was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, sending the Shijian-30A, Shijian-30B, and Shijian-30C satellites into their preset orbits.The satellites will be mainly used for space environment exploration and related technology verification.This marks the 608th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.

SpaceX launches ocean-mapping satellite to track rising sea levels

SpaceX successfully launched the Sentinel-6B ocean-mapping satellite from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California early Monday, marking a major step in global efforts to track rising sea levels.The satellite lifted off aboard a Falcon 9 rocket, with NASA spokesman Derrol Nail announcing, "Sentinel-6B rising, extending nearly four decades of the precise sea-level record from space."Sentinel-6B, part of the EU's Copernicus Earth-observation program, will measure sea-surface height with high accuracy, continuing the work of its predecessor, Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, launched in 2020. The mission is considered the global reference standard for monitoring sea-level rise -- a key indicator of climate change.According to the European Space Agency (ESA), global sea levels have risen by nearly 10 centimeters over the past 25 years, making precise long-term monitoring an international priority.The satellite carries an ESA-developed radar altimeter and a NASA microwave radiometer that measures atmospheric water vapor to improve the accuracy of sea-level readings.SpaceX confirmed that the Falcon 9's upper stage deployed Sentinel-6B about 57 minutes after launch, while the rocket's first stage returned to Vandenberg for a successful landing -- its third mission to date.

China successfully launched a new group of low Earth orbit satellites from the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site in the southern island province of Hainan on Monday.The satellite group, the 13th of its kind that will constitute an internet constellation, was launched aboard a Long March-12 carrier rocket, according to China's news agency (Xinhua).The satellites entered the preset orbit successfully.

China launched a new remote sensing satellite from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in the southern island province of Hainan on Monday. The Yaogan-46 satellite was launched aboard a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket and successfully entered its preset orbit, according to China’s Xinhua News Agency.The satellite will be primarily used for disaster prevention and relief, land resource surveys, hydrology, meteorology, and other related fields.This marks the 605th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.

China successfully launches two new test satellites

China on Monday sent two new test satellites into space from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the southwestern province of Sichuan. The test satellites, Shiyan-30 01 and 02, were launched at 11:00 a.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a Long March-2D carrier rocket and entered their preset orbits successfully, according to China's News Agency (Xinhua). The satellites will be mainly used for experimental verification of Earth observation technologies. The launch marked the 598th flight mission of the Long March series carrier rockets.

It has entered the preset orbit successfully, according to (Xinhua) news agency.It will be mainly used for scientific experiments, land resource surveys, crop yield estimates, and disaster prevention and relief work.The launch was the 594th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.Meanwhile, a smart Dragon-3 rocket lifted off on Tuesday morning from east China's Shandong Province, sending the Geely-05 constellation satellites into planned orbits.
