After six thrilling rounds filled with intense competition and high-speed action, the 2026 Arabian Drag Racing League concluded in spectacular fashion at the drag strip of Qatar Racing Club (QRC).The event was held under the patronage of QRC Chairman His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani. The fight for season titles intensified across all ten categories, with several championships decided in the final races and sealed at the finish line, closing one of the most successful seasons in the championship’s history.In the INDEX 9.0 category, Abdul Latif Abdul Latif claimed his second win of the season, having previously won Round 2, after defeating Rumaith al-Rumaith, who secured second place. With consistent results across the six rounds, Suleiman al-Sanousi was crowned season champion, having won Rounds 1 and 4 and finished runner-up in Round 2.The INDEX 8.50 category once again delivered a new round winner, with no driver claiming two victories this season. The final round produced a fresh podium lineup, as Hamdan al-Kaabi secured first place, followed by Nawaf Mohammed al-Ansari in second and Rakan al-Saqran in third. Despite the fierce competition, Yousuf al-Faraj emerged as the overall season champion in the category.The INDEX 4.00 category witnessed strong competition, with Rashid al-Balushi earning his second victory of the season after also winning the opening round. Thanks to podium finishes in all six rounds, Al-Balushi was crowned season champion in this class.Shawn Langdon claimed victory in both the INDEX 4.50 and INDEX 4.80 categories during the sixth round. In the INDEX 4.50 final, he defeated Ali al-Qattan, and in the INDEX 4.80 final, Langdon overcame Sheikh Jabor bin Hassan. Langdon also secured the season title in INDEX 4.80 after winning three rounds, while Saeed al-Balushi was crowned season champion in INDEX 4.50.The fiercest contest in the car categories came in Super Street Pro, where Yousuf al-Ali and Jaber al-Maghribi met in the final for the fifth time this season, with the title on the line.Al-Ali entered with four wins from four podiums, aiming for a fifth triumph, while al-Maghribi had five podium finishes, including one earlier victory. In the decisive showdown, al-Maghribi delivered when it mattered most, claiming his second win of the season and sealing the championship title.In the Super Street Outlaw category, the situation was slightly different. Mustafa Atat had already secured the season title at the end of the previous round, regardless of the final round results. The sixth-round title went to Turki al-Dhafiri, who defeated Ahmed Afsisi in the final.In the premier Pro Bike final, Mohammed al-Awad defeated Christopher Garner to clinch the season title, denying Mishaal Al-Saber any chance of overtaking him. Garner placed second, with Bradley McCoy third.In Super Street Bike, Mohammed Bourashed beat Mishari al-Turki to secure both the sixth-round win and the overall championship, while Badr bin Eidan finished third. Meanwhile, Mustafa Mahmoud confirmed his dominance in Street Bike, claiming a fifth straight victory in the final round ahead of Abdullah Abdul Rahim and Ahmed Karam to seal the season crown. At the conclusion of the event, participating clubs presented commemorative shields to His Excellency Sheikh Khalid and QRC Director General Sheikh Jabor bin Khalid al-Thani. The Director General then honored the media representatives, followed by the awarding ceremony for the top three finishers in each category and the crowning of the 2026 season champions.

The first half of the 2026 Arabian Drag Racing League (ADRL) concluded at the Qatar Racing Club's (QRC) drag strip amid thrilling, breath-holding battles between speed champions.The third round of the series, held under the patronage of QRC Chairman His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani, saw a new participation record with more than 170 competitors distributed across the championship’s 11 categories.The titles were contested by elite racers from the Gulf region, the wider Middle East, and the United States of America with eight competitors claiming their first titles of the season.The quarter-mile Index categories once again produced new champions for the second consecutive round, reshuffling the championship standings. Majed al-Sharshani claimed his first INDEX 9.0 category title after defeating Mohammed al-Thuwaini, who recorded his second podium finish of the season following a third-place result in the opening round. Mohammed al-Ansari also made his first podium appearance of the season in this category by finishing third.The INDEX 8.50 final brought together Yousef al-Faraj and Khaled Humaidan, both reaching the final for the first time this season. Al-Faraj prevailed to take the win, leaving second place to Humaidan.The eighth-mile Index categories also saw new winners, with the exception of INDEX 4.0, where Tareq al-Bastaki claimed his second consecutive title after defeating opening-round winner Rashid al-Balushi in the final.In INDEX 4.50, Saeed al-Balushi reached the final for the third consecutive round. After losing the previous two finals, he managed this time to secure his first title in the category by defeating Hassan Ashkanani. The INDEX 4.80 category produced a completely new podium, with Shaun Langdon taking first place, Batti al-Ali second, and Mohammed al-Furaih third.First titles for Gray and al-MaghribiAfter failing to reach the final in the previous two rounds and settling for third place, 2025 NHRA Pro Mod champion JR Gray secured the title beating Rashid al-Balushi in the final.In Super Street Pro, Jaber al-Maghribi reached the final for the third consecutive round and this time claimed his first championship title after defeating Nabil al-Issa, who made his first appearance of the season.Meanwhile, Mustafa Atat was the only competitor to achieve a perfect score in the first half of the championship, claiming his third consecutive title in the Super Street Outlaw categoryThe final race of the most powerful bike category brought together Mishaal al-Sabr and Christopher Garner. Al-Sabr was seeking his first title of the season after finishing third in the opening round and second in the previous round, but he once again had to settle for second place as Garner won the final and secured his first title of the season.The Super Street Bike category saw a new winner for the third consecutive round, with Badr bin Eidan taking the title after defeating opening-round winner Mishari al-Turki in the final.In the Street Bike category, last round’s winner Mustafa al-Mahmoudi claimed his second title of the season after winning the final against opening-round champion Mohammed Al-Salem.QRC Director General Sheikh Jabor bin Khalid al-Thani awarded trophies to the top three finishers in each category. The fourth round begins on Wednesday.

Abdullah al-Qahtani won the second round of Qatar Freestyle Championship that concluded last week at the Qatar Racing Club (QRC).The round was held under the generous patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani, Chairman of the Club, and witnessed a large crowd that filled the grandstands.Registration and technical inspection procedures were conducted last Wednesday, as Thursday coincided with the celebrations of the National Day of the State of Qatar. Registration was exceptionally reopened on Friday for approximately three hours to allow the largest possible number of participants to compete in this round.The inspection procedures adopted by the championship’s organizing committee emphasize the readiness of the cars to compete according to a few standards and conditions that all competitors must meet.These include vehicle-related requirements such as equipping the car with a roll cage, securely fixing the battery, and having a functional seat belt, among other points.There are also requirements related to the competitors themselves, focusing on safety elements such as wearing racing gear, a helmet, and having a functional seat belt, and similar measures.According to the competition format, each competitor is given one opportunity to enter the track and perform a freestyle run, aiming to execute specific maneuvers: drifting, reverse driving, the knot maneuver, and the “Riyous” maneuver, within a total time not exceeding four minutes.There is also a dedicated score for the overall style of the performance. These details were explained to the competitors during the briefing held on Friday prior to the start of the competitions, which lasted for approximately three hours.Abdullah al-Qahtani managed to secure his second consecutive title after winning the opening round. Saud al-Marri repeated his result from the previous round by finishing in second place, while Ahmed al-Musnad claimed third place, outperforming Mohammed al-Farhan and Ahmed al-Banna, who finished fourth and fifth respectively.As customary, the event concluded with the top three finishers being honored on the podium amid a large crowd, marking the end of the second round of the championship and the beginning of preparations for the third and penultimate round, scheduled to take place in two weeks.
