Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Centre holds annual auction

The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Centre, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, held its 27th annual stamp and coin auction on Friday at its new headquarters in the ministry building.The auction featured 262 diverse items, including stamps, coins, covers, albums, and first editions.Centre director Hussein Rajab al-Ismail said that this year's auction is distinguished by the significant participation of collectors and enthusiasts of stamps and coins from the Gulf countries and the Arab world, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, Yemen, and Lebanon.He noted the Centre's commitment to offering comprehensive and rare examples that cater to the interests of stamp and coin collectors from across the Gulf and the Arab world.Al-Ismail highlighted the diverse range of exhibited items, including stamps, covers, and gold and silver banknotes and coins.He noted that the Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Centre's programme for this year features local and international participation and exhibitions, such as a major international stamp and coin exhibition in Doha, organised by the ministry with the participation of 16 countries from the Gulf, the Arab world, and beyond.The Centre will also participate in the Doha International Book Fair in May, the Macau International Stamp Exhibition 2026, the Asian International Stamp Exhibition in Bandung, Indonesia, the Sharjah Stamp Exhibition, and the Taipei International Philatelic Exhibition.The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Centre aims to promote the hobby of stamp and coin collecting, working to elevate its standards and create opportunities for its development through national, regional, and international exhibitions and participation.

Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center to participate in Sharjah 2025 Stamp Exhibition

Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, will participate in the Sharjah Stamp Exhibition, to be held in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, from Oct. 29-Nov. 2. The event is organized by the Emirates Philatelic Association in cooperation with Mega Mall Sharjah, with the participation of philatelic associations from the Gulf and Arab countries. The exhibition is held annually, and the Qatari center is always keen to take part in this cultural event that brings together stamp enthusiasts from across the region. The Center will be represented by a delegation that includes stamp and coin collectors from Qatar, as well as several members affiliated with the Center. The Center is dedicated to promoting and supporting the hobby of stamp and coin collecting, advancing it through scientific and artistic means, and providing suitable conditions for its development. The Center also works to facilitate engagement among its members and to strengthen cooperation and connections between philatelic and numismatic enthusiasts in Qatar and other countries.

Qatar Philatelic, Numismatic Center to hold stamps and coins auction on Friday

The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center is set to hold a stamp and coin auction on Friday, on the sidelines of the "Athar and Ketab" event held in cooperation with the Qatari Dar Al Kutub at 8 PM at the headquarters of Dar Al Kutub. The auction, showcasing 209 valuable items, will welcome enthusiasts of stamp and coin collecting in Qatar and several Gulf countries. The items include Qatari stamps, old paper money of Qatar, as well as the Gulf and Arab countries, fancy number notes, and early models of coins.

Qatar Philatelic, Numismatic Center wins global medals at Seoul International Exhibition

The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, achieved a new milestone by winning prestigious international medals during its participation in the World Stamp Exhibition hosted by the South Korean capital, Seoul, from September 17 to 21, under the umbrella of the International Federation of Philately (FIP), with the participation of members from 66 countries.The center won three medals after its exhibits were evaluated by a panel of international judges.The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center is a member of the FIP and the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP), and is keen to participate in international and regional exhibitions organized by both federations.This achievement comes within the framework of the center's mission to promote and nurture the hobby of stamp and coin collecting, and to provide suitable conditions for its development in a way that serves its members and enhances Qatar's presence in this field on the international stage.
