 The Qatar Olympic Committee organised the Paralympic Challenge Day for people with disabilities on Wednesday in cooperation with Awsaj Academy, part of Qatar Foundation’s Pre University Education, at the academy’s sports hall, in a sporting and educational atmosphere aimed at promoting the values of challenge and social inclusion.The program featured a number of recognized Paralympic sports and competitions, including wheelchair basketball, boccia, goalball, and sitting volleyball, in addition to handcycling simulations and blindfold races. These activities provided students with an opportunity to learn about Paralympic sports while fostering teamwork and positive interaction among participants. **media[448516]**Saeeda al-Abdullah, Event Director from the Qatar Olympic Committee, expressed her sincere appreciation to all participants in the program, emphasizing that the event’s great success was the result of fruitful cooperation with Awsaj Academy and the dedicated efforts made by everyone involved to achieve its sporting and humanitarian objectives.She said: “At the Qatar Olympic Committee, we look forward to continuing this strategic and constructive cooperation in the future and to launching innovative initiatives that contribute to strengthening social responsibility and community participation, while supporting meaningful activities that serve and inspire younger generations and reinforce the values of determination, challenge, and respect among students.”Mohammed al-Janahi, Elementary School Principal at Awsaj Academy, stressed that organising such purposeful sporting events reflects the importance of promoting the values of inclusion and cooperation, while empowering all students to participate actively within the school community.He praised the important role played by the Qatar Olympic Committee in supporting sporting and humanitarian initiatives that contribute to raising awareness of Paralympic sports and promoting a culture of respect and appreciation for the abilities of individuals with different needs. He added that such community partnerships leave a deep educational and humanitarian impact on students and contribute to building a more aware and socially engaged generation. 

Organizers of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games unveiled the event's official visual identity on Monday, a floral-themed design system meant to reflect the ‌city's landscape, neighborhoods and cultural character.The branding will appear across ​competition venues, fan areas, citywide ‌installations, signage, digital platforms and broadcast presentations during the Games, ‌LA28 said.At the ⁠center of the ‌design is the "Superbloom," a reference to ‌the bursts of wildflowers that can blanket parts of Southern California after periods ⁠of rain."It was a great turning point for us when we developed this color palette," Geoff Engelhardt, LA28 Head of Brand Design, told reporters on a call."It's high energy, optimistic, and most importantly, welcoming. We are welcoming the world in 2028 to the biggest and greatest party it has ever seen."BIRD OF PARADISEThe core graphic is built around 13 individual blooms, ​which organizers said represent different elements of Los Angeles, from its entertainment culture to its neighborhoods, people and native landscape.The color palette draws on the Bird of Paradise, the ‌official flower of Los Angeles, ⁠and is grouped ​into four families - Poppy, Scarlet Flax, Bluebell and Sagebrush - to evoke ​the region's terrain and vegetation."We're inviting the world to this space and the colors that we pulled from our beautiful, official flower of the city reflect that," said Ric Edwards, LA28 Vice President of Brand Design and Executive Design Director."We've got 40 plus venues that we need to design and these colors transmit different moods. We're going to use that to tell our overall story."TYPOGRAPHICAL STYLEOrganizers said the typographic style was inspired by Los Angeles street signage, including strip mall and hand-painted storefront ‌lettering, in an effort to give ‌the identity a distinctly local ⁠feel.LA28 said the design was developed to work across a wide range of ⁠settings, from nearly century-old venues ⁠to new facilities, while also accounting for broadcast requirements, digital formats and lighting conditions. The organizing committee partnered with design studio Koto on the project.The identity was unveiled more than two years before the Olympic opening ceremony in what organizers described as an unusually early rollout, allowing partners and stakeholders more time to ​incorporate the branding into their materials.The color palette will extend to merchandise for the Games."This is just the first step," Engelhardt said."We're going to take this look, our colors, our type system, and our blooms and start building an amazing licensing offering for all fans and athletes to take pride in."Licensing partners like Nike and Ralph Lauren will follow LA28's design lead, Edwards said.Los Angeles will host the Olympics for a third time in 2028, after staging ‌the Games in 1932 ​and 1984. It will also host the Paralympics for the first time. 

The Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) is preparing to host the 2025 Paralympic Day, an event aimed at empowering people with disabilities and offering them the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports activities that promote teamwork and positivity. The event, in collaboration with the Qatar Paralympic Federation for People with Disabilities and Qatar Stars League, will take place Wednesday at Aspire Dome’s Indoor Athletics Track from 9am-1pm, with the participation of around 250 participants from schools and centres across Qatar. Participants will engage in 15 sports activities designed to encourage interaction, build team spirit, and enjoy sports in an inclusive and safe environment. The activities include goalball for the visually impaired, table tennis for people with disabilities, obstacle course, javelin throw, tug-of-war, and parachute game. The event will also feature specialised sports activities for individuals with hearing and visual impairments, the deaf community, and those with physical disabilities. Through this initiative, the AZF reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030 by promoting the values of inclusivity and equality in sports, and by empowering all members of the community to engage in sports activities within a safe and motivating environment that encourages positive participation and social integration, a statement added. 

The Qatari Paralympic Team will take part in the IPC Athletics World Championships, scheduled in New Delhi, India, from September 26 to October 5. More than 1,000 athletes will compete in over 160 track and field events.The Qatari delegation, headed by Board Member Mohammed Dahim al-Dosari, will depart for New Delhi Sunday. The squad includes Abdulrahman Abdulqader, Mohammed al-Kubaisi, Ali Irshad and Sarah Masoud, who will compete in shot put and wheelchair racing events.The team recently completed a closed training camp in Poland as part of its final preparations. Abdulqader and Masoud are Paralympic medalists, while al-Kubaisi and Irshad have earned regional and continental honors.Al-Dosari underlined the importance of the championships, describing them as the most prominent global event ahead of the Paralympic Games, and a platform for athletes to showcase their determination and talent. He expressed confidence in the Qatari team’s ability to deliver strong performances and continue building on their track record of success.
