The Ministry of Interior has warned against playing or circulating audio or video clips that mimic the National Emergency Alert System, including using such tones as mobile ringtones in public or private settings, citing risks of causing panic and disturbing public order.In a statement posted on its official account on X, the ministry stressed the importance of public responsibility and adherence to regulations, noting that misuse of emergency alert tones constitutes a legal offense subject to accountability. Authorities also urged the public to report violations by calling 999.  

The Ministry of Interior (MoI), in a series of social media posts, has highlighted the co-operation of family members and their adherence to instructions issued by the relevant authorities to protect everyone and to face emergencies.An MoI statement said: "The co-operation of family members and their adherence to the directives issued by the relevant authorities help protect everyone and enhance the community’s ability to address the emerging developments with awareness and responsibility."The statement further noted: “During emergencies, the older family members and those with medical conditions require greater care and attention at home. Make sure to check on them regularly.”Meanwhile, MoI has once again emphasised the importance of adhering to traffic rules and public safety measures to protect lives and property and to reinforce the principle of collective responsibility and compliance with safety guidelines.The statement said: “Adhering to traffic regulations and general safety is a civilised behaviour that protects lives and property. It reflects awareness of the principle of social responsibility and the co-operation of the members of society in following safety instructions.”Furthermore, the ministry cautioned motorists that making loud noise from vehicles violates traffic law and disturbs others. “Your commitment to traffic rules and regulations reflects your awareness and helps maintain safety.”It stated that motorists must comply with the instructions and regulations and refrain from making loud noises from vehicles to maintain public peace.The ministry also stressed the importance of adhering to workplace safety guidelines and taking national alerts and warning messages seriously.The statement said that it is important for everyone to adhere to all instructions at their workplace and follow the directions of the workplace security and safety team to enhance everyone's safety, which also reflects institutional discipline in the work environment.MoI and other government entities have been regularly issuing directives and awareness messages to ensure public safety and security since the outbreak of regional tensions. They have time and again advised the public to rely only on official communication channels for the right information. 

The Ministry of Interior has issued safety guidelines for employees at workplaces, outlining a set of instructions and procedures to be followed when responding to precautionary security alerts. This initiative is part of the Ministry's commitment to enhancing public safety and raising awareness of preventive measures within the workplace.The ministry clarified that employees must take national alerts or warnings issued through official channels seriously and immediately comply with their instructions. They should also follow updates only through official sources and refrain from spreading rumours or republishing unreliable information.The ministry emphasised the necessity of adhering to the directives of the relevant authorities and security and safety teams at the workplace, avoiding any individual interpretations.Regarding safe conduct within buildings, the ministry urged employees to remain inside the building upon the issuance of any precautionary alert, maintain calm, and avoid causing alarm. Employees should also avoid going outside or to open areas and stay away from windows, glass facades, and open surfaces.The ministry stressed the importance of staying away from energy sources and flammable materials, and minimising unnecessary movement between floors or buildings.Regarding evacuation of facilities, the ministry recommended familiarising oneself with emergency exits, evacuation routes, and designated assembly points within the workplace. It also advised against using elevators when an evacuation alert or instruction is given, recommending instead the use of stairs and emergency exits.The ministry emphasised the need to avoid pushing or crowding while moving to safe areas within the building and to keep corridors and emergency exits clear of obstructions to ensure rapid evacuation when necessary.The guidelines also included instructions to follow in the event of an explosion or sudden incident. The ministry explained that if a person is outside the building when an explosion occurs, they should immediately go to the nearest safe area within the building and remain there after hearing the explosion or alert until instructions are issued by the relevant authorities that the danger has passed.Regarding the handling of suspicious objects and hazards, the Ministry emphasised the necessity of immediately reporting any suspicious object or unusual observation through the designated channels within the organisation or by contacting the relevant authorities. It stressed the prohibition of touching or approaching any metallic object, shrapnel fragments, or unidentified objects.The ministry also emphasised the importance of organisational discipline within the workplace, stressing the need to refrain from photographing incidents, sites, or security procedures and posting them on social media. Furthermore, it highlighted the importance of knowing emergency numbers and how to contact designated security and safety supervisors within the organisation, as well as the necessity of fully cooperating with security and safety officials and adhering to their instructions under all circumstances.The ministry indicated that the security and safety departments in governmental, semi-governmental, and private entities are responsible for disseminating these guidelines to employees and monitoring their implementation. They are also tasked with ensuring the readiness of emergency exits, evacuation routes, assembly points, and response mechanisms for precautionary alerts.The ministry confirmed that it will take the necessary legal measures against anyone who violates these guidelines, in accordance with applicable regulations. It also encouraged the public to contact them with any inquiries or comments regarding safety guidelines via the numbers: 2355585 and 2355633.

The Ministry of Interior has extended all categories of entry visas that have expired or are nearing expiration for a period of one month, subject to further extension in line with developments, effective Saturday, February 28, 2026.In a statement issued Tuesday, the ministry confirmed that the extension will be processed automatically through the approved electronic systems, with exemption from fees, and without the need to visit the relevant departments or submit additional applications.Regarding entry visas of all types that incurred violations prior to February 28, the Ministry clarified that the concerned individuals must first settle the prescribed reconciliation fine for the period of overstay. Thereafter, the extension and fee exemption shall apply to them effective from the aforementioned date.The ministry continues to monitor developments and take necessary measures as needed to ensure the stability of the legal status of residents and visitors.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has urged the public to avoid the use of parking spaces for people with disabilities. "Occupying parking spaces reserved for persons with disabilities is a traffic offence and a bad habit and violates their rights," MoI said in an X post. The ministry said adhering to designated parking spaces and avoiding the use of parking spaces for people with disabilities is a civilised behaviour that reflects compliance with traffic laws and guidelines and preserves the rights of others.

The General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced a 60-day extension of the deadline for rectifying the status of vehicles whose licenses have expired and exceeded the legal period stipulated in Article No. 11 of Traffic Law No. 19 of 2007. The grace period, according to a statement by MoI on X, came into effect Thursday and the vehicle status can be rectified within the given period in order to avoid the approved legal procedures.MoI clarified that this decision is based on the announcement issued on July 27, 2025, whereby the deadline has been extended for an additional 60 days from August 28. This extension aims to provide vehicle owners with the opportunity to complete the required procedures within the specified time-frame to avoid legal accountability. The grace period was announced as part of efforts to regulate vehicle status and ensure compliance with traffic laws and regulations.The ministry has warned that failure to register the vehicle within the deadline may lead to its deletion from the records of the General Directorate of Traffic. Earlier, during an interview with Qatar TV, Lieutenant-Colonel Hamad Ali al-Muhannadi, head of the Registration Section at the Licensing Affairs Department at the General Directorate of Traffic, said that there are no exceptions in this regard. “Failure to follow the rules will result in the enforcement of the law. The law applies to all vehicles,” he said, adding that innovations have made the procedures easy and the technical inspection takes 10-15 minutes.“Renewing insurance can be done online and renewal of the vehicle can be easily done through Metrash,” Lt-Col al-Muhannadi said, noting that the violations can be checked and cleared through Metrash or the MoI website.
