 A delegation from the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) participated in a ceremony held to announce that the search and rescue team of the General Directorate of Civil Protection at Egypt’s ministry of interior had obtained international classification at the “Medium” level from the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG), affiliated with the United Nations Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).  The delegation was headed by Lekhwiya assistant commander (Administration and Supply) Staff Brigadier Mubarak Sherida al-Kaabi.  This achievement reflects the outcomes of joint co-operation in the field of search and rescue, with the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group contributing to the training and qualification of the Egyptian team in accordance with approved international standards.  Accordingly, the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group became the first Arab international team to train and qualify another Arab team to achieve international classification.  The ceremony was attended by Egypt’s Assistant Minister of Interior Major-General Amr Mustafa El-Baily, along with security leaders from both sides and INSARAG representatives.  On the sidelines of the announcement ceremony, al-Kaabi held a meeting with El-Baily.  During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of co-operation in the fields of security training and search and rescue, and discussed ways to further enhance and develop this co-operation.  El-Baily commended the prominent role of the Qatari International Search and Rescue Group, as an internationally accredited mentor, in training and qualifying the Egyptian team to obtain international certification.  He also emphasised the importance of continued co-ordination and co-operation in strengthening the joint Arab search and rescue system. –

Qatari rescue crews are on the ground in central Spain, joining Spanish emergency services in the battle against large-scale wildfires. The International Search and Rescue Group of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) has begun field missions in co-ordination with Spain's Ministry of the Interior and local emergency agencies, with operations centred on the municipality of Piedralaves in Ávila province, in Castilla y León. The group has drawn up a strategic deployment plan and moved into the affected areas. Before deploying, the Qatari team met the secretary-general for civil protection and emergencies at the Ministry of the Interior, along with representatives of local authorities, to exchange information on the latest developments and assess conditions on the ground. 

Police Academy honours graduates His Excellency the Minister of Interior, Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani attended Thursday the graduation of the second cohort of the Master of Law and Master of Security Studies programmes at the Police Academy’s College of Graduate Studies. The ceremony also celebrated graduates of the 11th mandatory qualifying course for civilian university graduates at the Police College and the fourth such course for female graduates at the Women’s Police Institute. Sheikh Khalifa honoured the graduates and launched the Police Academy’s new website as part of efforts to enhance its digital services. He later attended the graduation of the sixth group taking part in the seventh Police of Tomorrow programme (Summer 2026), in the presence of senior officials, officers and the graduates’ families.

His Excellency Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani held talks Monday with Pakistan’s Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Raza Naqvi in Doha. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral co-operation in the security sector and strengthening ties between the two countries. The two sides also reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest. 

The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) has announced its Summer Camp 2026, in partnership with the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), running from August 2-13. The camp targets Qatari students aged 9-13, offering a programme that combines education, culture, physical activities, and leadership development. Qatari families are so keen on these summer programmes for their practical and entertaining schedules as well as it is an opportunity to build the characters of the youth and their love to the mother land. The camp will run daily from 9am-1:30pm and provides a comprehensive experience designed to develop participants’ skills and enhance their knowledge through a variety of educational and interactive activities. Registration is open for both boys’ and girls’ programmes. The programme combines learning within the museum with exploration of arts, sciences, and culture, alongside hands-on experiences that enrich children’s knowledge and broaden their horizons. The partnership with Lekhwiya also includes a range of sports activities, swimming, leadership programmes, and interactive challenges that foster teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence among participants. The camp also includes specialised educational workshops offered by the Qatar Science Club and the Qatar Calendar House, providing participants with the opportunity to explore diverse scientific and cultural fields through hands-on activities and innovative teaching methods. The programme includes an educational visit to the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, aiming to introduce children to the history of sports and inspire them with the values of excellence and achievement, within a comprehensive programme that combines knowledge, culture, and physical activity. The camp is organised as part of the Museum of Islamic Art’s efforts to offer high-quality summer programmes that contribute to enriching children’s summer break and developing their creative, intellectual, and physical abilities. This is achieved through national partnerships that foster integration between cultural, educational, and security institutions, providing a safe and stimulating learning environment that blends learning with recreation. 

His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani presented certificates Thursday to the second batch of graduates of the Security Command and Staff Programme.  The minister, who is also chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy, handed the certificates to participants who completed the requirements of the programme, which is run by the academy's College of Graduate Studies. Heads and commanders of military and security agencies attended the ceremony.

The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) concluded the first phase of its 2026 training program at Zekreet Camp, in the presence of HE Lekhwiya Deputy Commander Staff Major General Mohammed Misfer Al Shahwani, along with senior military and security officials from across the country. The ceremony marked the graduation of nine training courses organized by the Internal Security Force Training Institute, with the participation of 489 trainees from military and security entities in the country, as well as participants from sisterly countries. **media[448253]** The event also featured a joint final exercise simulating multiple security threats, aimed at enhancing operational readiness and rapid response capabilities. The graduated courses included the foundational Lekhwiya Operations Course for officers, explosives handling, riot control for other ranks, urban combat operations, three foundational Lekhwiya Operations courses for other ranks, in addition to motorcade skills, joint patrols, and motorcycle training courses. **media[448255]**The training plan is designed to meet the needs of various Lekhwiya units and external entities, contributing to improved performance efficiency and strengthened personnel readiness in line with evolving security challenges.

Qatar’s Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) aimed at strengthening co-operation in search and rescue operations and humanitarian assistance. The agreement was co-signed by Lekhwiya Assistant Commander for Administration and Supply, Staff Brigadier Mubarak Sherida al-Kaabi and QFFD Director-General Fahad Hamad al-Sulaiti. The signing ceremony was attended by HE Lekhwiya Deputy Commander Staff Major General Mohammed Misfer al-Shahwani. The memorandum is intended to enhance co-operation by drawing on the expertise of Lekhwiya-affiliated Qatari International Search and Rescue Group in the field of rescue operations. It also covers the provision of consultancy services and technical specifications for equipment used in field operations and practical training exercises.  

His Excellency Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani attended the closing of the 2026 Military Obstacle Championship held at the obstacle field in the training village.The championship aims to test participants' endurance, assess response speed, and strengthen teamwork while fostering positive competition.At the conclusion of the event, he honoured the Special Unit "Lifdawiya" team, winners of the championship banner.
