The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), through its distinguished participation in the State’s 2025 National Day parade, affirmed its full readiness to protect the country’s internal security and defend the homeland.The Lekhwiya formations taking part in the National Day parade underscored the meaning of this year’s National Day slogan, "With You It Rises, From You It Awaits", as the nation is elevated by the contributions of its sons and looks to them to honor their pledge and safeguard its security and stability.The formations presented a comprehensive display of discipline, readiness, and professionalism, reflecting Lekhwiya’s human and technological capabilities. The precise marching steps blended with the rhythms of national music to embody the spirit of belonging and loyalty.**media[394884]**Leading the parade was the mounted unit, considered one of the most important elements in security operations due to its roles in patrols, protection, riot control, and maintaining public order, highlighting its strong field presence. This was followed by the officers’ formation, comprising an elite group of force officers, in a scene reflecting a high level of competence and command discipline.The Special Unit stood out through field running demonstrations that showcased physical fitness and rapid response in counterterrorism operations. It was followed by the Special Operations formation, which embodied high readiness to carry out precise field missions. The Silent Platoon also delivered weapons displays marked by accuracy and coordinated field harmony, underscoring exceptional skill and high discipline.**media[394885]**The display continued with the participation of the Special Operations Task Unit, which has played a prominent role in securing major events, most notably the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, alongside the sniper unit under the leadership of Special Operations, highlighting a high level of professionalism.The presence of the security cell formation from the Support and Backup Group demonstrated its vital role as a first responder in emergency situations, while the motorcade and patrols formation reflected its responsibility for securing VIP convoys and deploying patrols across the State. Women’s participation was also evident, with the appearance of the female riot control formation, affirming the role of women in security tasks. This was followed by three consecutive riot control formations from the Public Order Command, in a scene reflecting maximum readiness and high professionalism.The explosives unit also took part with its specialized team that relies on the latest technologies to ensure safety at events and vital sites, alongside the Qatari International Search and Rescue formations, which carry an honorable record of more than 120 humanitarian missions worldwide, embodying the humanitarian dimension of Lekhwiya’s role.**media[394886]**The celebratory scene was completed by the participation of the military band, which led the parade with majestic harmony, combining discipline and national spirit. National service recruits also participated in two integrated formations, demonstrating through their specialized training under the supervision of the Lekhwiya Training Institute their readiness to contribute to security missions.The display of military and security vehicles formed a prominent part of Lekhwiya’s participation in the National Day parade, featuring the latest vehicles added to Lekhwiya’s fleet, including Tesla vehicles and motorcycles designated for securing VIP convoys.Vehicles of the Special Unit, equipped for security missions and raids in rugged terrain and high-rise buildings, also participated, alongside rapid intervention vehicles affiliated with the Special Operations Command, and convoy security and patrol command vehicles, including environmental vehicles and pursuit-and-arrest vehicles fitted with advanced technologies.Vehicles for personal protection, explosives group vehicles equipped to deal with suspicious objects, public order vehicles, support and backup vehicles, security cells vehicles, and Qatari International Search and Rescue vehicles were also showcased, in addition to various other vehicles, a mobile operations room, and a drone. Together, these illustrate an integrated system of technical and logistical capabilities that enhance the force’s readiness under all circumstances.Lekhwiya also took part in securing National Day parade areas and ensuring smooth traffic flow, in addition to securing VIP convoys and State guests. This included close protection and escorting official convoys at various locations, as well as securing areas of major events hosted by the State through the deployment of patrols, activation of security cells, and coordination of efforts among various units to ensure the highest levels of safety and security.This vital role reflects the ability of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) to combine impressive ceremonial displays on national occasions with practical operational readiness in the field, reinforcing its position as a fundamental pillar of the internal security and stability system. 

His Excellency the Minister of Interior, Commander of the Internal Security Force Lekhwiya, and Chairman of the Security Committee Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani met Thursday with Secretary of Homeland Security of the United States of America Kristi Noem at the National Command Center (NCC).HE the Minister toured the NCC with the secretary of Homeland Security of the United States of America. During the visit, she was briefed on the NCC's command and control systems, advanced monitoring and analytical technologies, and its role in supporting decision-making and managing events and crises.The tour also included the Tournament Command Center (TCC), where she reviewed the operational systems used to monitor and secure major sporting events. These systems contribute to enhanced response efficiency and a high level of operational readiness in line with international best practices in security operations management. 

His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, has held talks with Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Morocco, Abdelouafi Laftit, in Doha. During the meeting at the National Command Center (NCC), the two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest and reviewed existing co-operation between Qatar and Morocco in the field of security. They also explored ways to strengthen and further develop this co-operation, with the aim of enhancing joint action. Following the talks, Minister Laftit toured the NCC, where he was briefed on its core functions and its command-and-control systems. He was shown the advanced technologies used for monitoring, analysis, decision-making support, and the management of events and crises. The visiting minister also learned about the role of the Tournament Command Centre (TCC) in overseeing and securing major sporting events. and how it contributes to effective response and heightened operational readiness.  

His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani has affirmed that celebrating the Qatar National Day represents an enduring occasion in the memory of every citizen, during which the values of the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, who established the modern state on the principles of faith, dignity, and unity, are reiterated.In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE Sheikh Khalifa explained that this occasion is a day of pride in and appreciation for the achievements attained by the nation under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani. He added that celebrating this occasion embodies the depth of national belonging and reinforces the values of loyalty and solidarity around the leadership and sincere work for the elevation and prosperity of Qatar. It is also an opportunity to renew the pledge to move forward with confidence on the path of renaissance and comprehensive development.HE the minister pointed out that the wise leadership has laid the foundations of sustainable development by following the approach of the founder, who set the cornerstones of the modern state, noting that these values have thus extended from the stage of establishment to a prosperous present. Qatar has witnessed an integrated renaissance across all sectors, from security, education, and health to the economy and infrastructure, allowing citizens today to reap the fruits of the efforts that stemmed from the founder's vision and keen foresight, he stressed.He added that the State has given great attention to the citizen as the centre and ultimate goal of development, by empowering citizens and enhancing their role in building the nation and safeguarding its achievements, affirming that citizens are aware of their history and recognise today that the prosperity and stability achieved are an extension of the founder's approach, which requires continuing along the same path with sincerity, loyalty, and dedication in serving the homeland.Regarding the Ministry of Interior's Strategy (2024-2030), HE Sheikh Khalifa explained that the strategy was formulated to translate the State's focus toward developing an integrated security system that relies on innovation and modern technology in the service of security and society. He noted that the implementation of the strategy during its first year resulted in numerous achievements, most notably strengthening security and reducing rates of concerning crimes by more than 8% compared with the previous year, in addition to enhancing the efficiency of security response across various security and service departments.He added that Qatar has topped international indicators of safety and security, ranking first in the Middle East and North Africa in the 2025 Global Peace Index, and 27th globally according to the Institute for Economics and Peace. He emphasised that this achievement reflects the advanced performance of the security agencies and their ability to maintain security and stability, which constitute the foundation of development and economic progress.He pointed out the continued development of the Ministry of Interior's digital services through the enhancement of the Metrash 2 application and its website, as well as the launch of qualitative initiatives such as the digital identity, which facilitates the public's completion of transactions quickly and securely.On another note, HE Sheikh Khalifa noted that the security leadership achieved by Qatar over the course of a full decade is the result of a wise strategic vision and sustained investment in human capital and infrastructure, pointing out that the State has adopted a comprehensive security model based on proactive prevention, strengthening partnerships between state institutions and society, and respect for the rule of law and public rights.HE the minister stated that the integrated efforts of the Ministry of Interior and the various security agencies have contributed to achieving a safe and stable environment reflected across all development indicators. He affirmed that security in Qatar is no longer merely an institutional duty, but has become a national culture in which both citizens and residents participate, thanks to the cohesion between the leadership and the people and the integration of roles among the various state institutions.  

The Doha International Music and Marching Festival (Doha Tattoo) made its debut Tuesday at Katara Cultural Village, bringing together renowned military bands for a global celebration of music and marching traditions.The event, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Commander Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, and organised by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) in collaboration with Visit Qatar, will run until December 20.The opening ceremony was attended by His Excellency Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed al-Mannai, Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, alongside senior state officials.**media[394416]**Organisers stressed that the opening marked a notable Qatari evening, as Doha added a new chapter to its cultural and artistic journey, highlighting military music as a shared cultural language that brings nations together.The programme features military band performances in a visually engaging setting that combines military discipline with artistic expression, uniting sound and movement as Eastern and Western cultures converge at Katara.Participating bands include Qatari ensembles from the Ministry of Defence, the MoI, the Amiri Guard and Lekhwiya, alongside bands from Oman, Jordan, the UK, the US, Turkiye, and Kazakhstan.The bands performed pieces inspired by global military music traditions, celebrating rhythm, culture, and unity in a setting that fosters cultural exchange and honours long-standing military customs, reflecting the warmth, peace, and security that characterise events hosted in Doha.The festival opened with a performance by the Lekhwiya Band, presenting a programme of national military compositions delivered through co-ordinated rhythms and structured formations.**media[394417]**It reflected the band’s strong collective cohesion and was met with positive audience engagement for its celebratory character and national significance.The Jordanian Armed Forces Band, joined by the Silent Drill Team of the Royal Jordanian Guard and the Jordanian Circassian Guard, presented a performance rooted in long-standing military tradition.The Omani Royal Guard Military Band delivered a performance that showcased the Sultanate’s military musical identity through a selection of national and military compositions.Representing the UK, the Central Band of the Royal Air Force performed alongside the King’s Colour Squadron and the Royal Air Force Pipes and Drums.The programme included classical military compositions and national pieces, presented through carefully co-ordinated musical arrangements and ceremonial movement, reflecting the United Kingdom’s established military music tradition.The Qatari Armed Forces Band presented a programme of national and military compositions performed through structured formations and co-ordinated brass arrangements.A joint pipes and drums performance brought together ensembles from Qatar, Oman, Jordan and the UK.Featuring 140 pipers performing in a unified formation, the presentation highlighted the collective nature of military music and its ability to convey messages of co-operation and shared purpose.The US Air Force Honour Guard Band presented a performance combining musical elements with silent drill movements.The presentation focused on co-ordinated formations and ceremonial precision, offering a distinctive display that was met with strong audience appreciation.The Turkish Gendarmerie Band and the Mehter Band presented a programme that reflected one of the oldest military music traditions in the world.Featuring traditional and contemporary compositions performed with brass instruments and structured formations, the presentation highlighted the historical depth of Turkiye’s military musical heritage.**media[394418]**The Band of the Irish Guards delivered a performance combining traditional and modern musical selections.The programme featured brass and woodwind arrangements supported by organised marching formations, creating a refined presentation that resonated well with the audience.The Honour Guard of the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan and the Central Military Band of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan presented a programme that blended traditional and modern musical elements.The first day of the festival concluded with a performance by the MoI Band, represented by the Police Academy Drill Team.The festival featured a theatrical Qatari narrative titled *The Tale of Jassim, depicting the evolution of life in Qatar from the desert to the sea and onward to modern Doha. 

His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani conducted an inspection visit to review preparations for the launch of the 1st edition of the Doha International Music and Marching Festival (Doha Tattoo), scheduled to take place at the Katara Cultural Village from December 16 to 20.During the visit, His Excellency went over the organisational readiness and technical preparations for the festival, which will feature performances by military and music bands from a number of countries, alongside national participants from the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Interior, the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and the Amiri Guard.The festival marks a first-of-its-kind event in the Middle East and represents a significant addition to the global series of Tattoo festivals.  

His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani met with Spain's Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska Gomez, and the accompanying delegation. The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation in security fields and ways to enhance and further develop them, besides touching on issues of mutual concern. The meeting also witnessed the signing of a joint action plan between the interior ministries of the two countries in the areas of information exchange, counter-terrorism, and crime prevention, along with a joint statement between Lekhwiya and the Spanish interior ministry to advance security co-operation mechanisms. HE Sheikh Khalifa and Gomez signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.  

His Excellency Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani visited the National Command Center (NCC) Tuesday, accompanied by Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the friendly United States of America, Kashyap Patel.The FBI director was briefed on the command and control systems and advanced technologies used in monitoring, analysis, and decision support, in addition to the center's role in managing events and crises.**media[391786]**The visit also included the Tournament Command Center (TCC) to learn about the operational capabilities and technologies adopted in managing and securing sporting events, thus enhancing preparedness for responding to major events.  

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani Thursday attended the conclusion of the "Watan 2025" exercise.The exercise included preliminary desk-based phases, followed by field exercises simulating realistic scenarios for dealing with security challenges and emergencies.The closing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali al-Thani and His Excellency Minister of Interior and Commandor of Internal Security Forces (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani along with a number the ministers; senior officials from participating entities; and security leaders. His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also inaugurated the Lekhwiya camp - in Zekreet - which is preparing to host the "Arabian Gulf Security 4" exercise in early 2026, with the participation of security agencies from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.  

Under the auspices of HE the Minister of Interior, Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Police Academy Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the 14th Conference of Heads of Arab Security Training and Rehabilitation Institutions kicked off in Doha Wednesday. Hosted by the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Police Academy, the two-day conference is drawing broad participation from representatives of the ministries of interior in the Arab countries, alongside representatives of relevant regional and global organisations and institutions. These organisations are UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), UN Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South‑West Asia and the Arab Region, Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI), International Institute for Justice and the Rule of Law (IIJ), Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), Arab Interior Ministers’ Council-General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers. The opening ceremony was attended by HE Legal Adviser to HE the Minister of Interior and General Supervisor of the Police Academy Major General Dr Abdullah Yousef al-Mal, Secretary-General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council Dr Mohammad Ali Kuman, and President of the Police Academy and Chairman of the conference Brig. Gen. Abdul Rahman Majid al-Sulaiti. Addressing the conference, Dr al-Mal said the Police Academy is proud of hosting this event with the participation of a distinguished group of leaders and experts from across the Arab world, alongside partners from specialized international organiSations, convened to exchange expertise and bolster collaboration in training and capacity-building, a fundamental pillar of security and stability. The contemporary security challenges have become more intricate and interlinked, making persistent outstanding training indispensable for capacity-building and helping security personnel keep up with developments and confront risks by proactively leveraging state-of-the-art techniques, Dr al-Mal said. Under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Qatar has given foremost priority to the advancement of education and security training systems, in its belief that enduring security begins from the highly qualified human, he underlined. For his part, Ali Kuman affirmed that the conference convenes in Doha Thursday as part of the tremendous interest Qatar gives to the rehabilitation of Arab security apparatuses to be further capable of fully discharging their duties. He heaped praise on the initiative proffered by the Ministry of Interior in Qatar to allocate two annual scholarships at the Police Academy in the name of the late Arab security luminary HRH Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for students from member states. This move is a gesture that embodies fidelity to the legacy of the architect of Arab security cooperation and reflects an unflagging commitment to providing member states with access to the academy’s elevated level of training and professional excellence, Ali Kuman underlined. Ali Kuman further added that hosting this conference by the academy, along with the field visit to its premises, would be an invaluable opportunity to have a glimpse of this premium level, as long as the academy abounds with outstanding scientific programs. The constructive discussions of the agenda would yield consequential outcomes that strengthen Arab cooperation in the areas of security training and rehabilitation, in support of building the capabilities of Arab security apparatuses to deal with a variety of criminal threats, he highlighted. On the first day, the conference explored a flurry of critical subjects on the agenda, including advancing the technological skills of police and security personnel to combat cybercrimes, a benchmark model plan for preventive security training and qualification, alongside a benchmark model plan for security training and qualification in crisis and emergency management. The Police Academy presented a primer on the Virtual Security Operations Center (vSOC), in implementation of the recommendation issued by the Board of Trustees of the Prince Nayef Arab Security Award to present the award-winning pioneering security programs at the relevant meetings convened under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers. The Police Academy's vSOC in Qatar was awarded first place in the category of pioneering security programs for 2024. The vSOC performs a critical role in conducting virtual security exercises based on advanced simulation systems that mimic realistic and complex security scenarios. It also innovates unconventional remediation solutions, in addition to developing the mechanisms of operationalizing the joint operations chambers among different stakeholders to foster security integration and elevates the readiness of the national response system.

His Excellency Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of Qatar, Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghatam.During the meeting, they discussed several topics of common interest, as well as the cooperation relations between the two countries in the security field and ways to enhance and develop them.
