World Malayalee Council-Qatar organises blood donation camp

World Malayalee Council- Qatar (WMC-Q) conducted its 2nd Kerala Unity Blood drive on June 12 at Qatar National Blood Donation Centre, under the banner of 'Many Hearts, One Mission'. The drive was conducted in partnership with Blood Donors Kerala Qatar, 14 district associations of Kerala, 5 healthcare partners, and 3 media partners.This initiative by WMC-Q showcases the unity and solidarity within the community, and an act of serving the host nation has been awe-inspiring and true to the tagline 'Many Hearts, One Mission'.Indian ambassador Vipul inaugurated the event, handed over mementos to associates and partners, and paid a visit and interacted with the donors. He remarked that blood donation and health camps conducted by various organisations should be continuous efforts. He also remarked on the excellent health care provided by HMC, Qatar's health care system, and the close ties between the two nations.**media[458801]**Renjith Challil, general secretary, delivered the welcome address. Ziad Usman, president WMC-Q, thanked all associated associations for their unhesitating willingness and support for the initiative by WMC. He remarked that the objective was to bring together people and work towards something meaningful in supporting the host nation and believed that such collaborations would continue in future as well.A P Manikandan, president of ICC and Sithendu Pal, VP ISC, addressed the gathering in felicitating all the organisations involved. Nasser, HMC, P N Baburaj, K S Prasad, Krishna Kumar Bandhakavi, Avinash Gaikwad, Rajani Moorthy, other community leaders and well-wishers were present during the inaugural functionJiji John, the treasurer, delivered the vote of thanks, and Subina Vijay was the host for the event.Extremely thankful to the donors, HMC Blood Donation Centre for their support, BDK for their guidance, district associations, health care partners, WMC team and volunteers in making this project successful.

Qatar Chamber discusses trade relations with Kerala’s chief minister

Qatar Chamber hosted Pinarayi Vijayan, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Kerala, who was in Doha recently with his accompanying delegation. Vijayan and his team were received by Qatar Chamber first vice-chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari, in the presence of Sheikh Hassan bin Khalid al-Thani and LuLu Group International chairman M A Yusuff Ali. Also present at the meeting were Qatar Chamber board members Abdul Rahman al-Ansari and Shaheen al-Mohannadi, along with Indian ambassador Vipul. During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral cooperation in trade and economic fields, exploring ways to enhance it. They also reviewed the role of the private sector in promoting mutual investments and increasing trade exchange between the two countries. Al-Kuwari highlighted the strong relations between Qatar and India, particularly in economic and trade fields, noting that these relations have witnessed remarkable growth in recent years. He said India is a strategic trading partner for Qatar, with bilateral trade reaching QR48bn in 2024. He also affirmed Qatar’s keenness to strengthen and expand such relations, stressing the chamber’s support for fostering partnerships and alliances between Qatari and Indian business communities.

Kerala Business Forum condemns attack on Qatar; expresses solidarity with Doha

The Kerala Business Forum (KBF) has expressed its deepest condolences and heartfelt solidarity with the leadership, government, and people of Qatar, following the tragic incident in Doha on September 9, 2025."We stand firmly with the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the Government of Qatar during this difficult time. Qatar has consistently upheld its role as a beacon of peace, dialogue, and mediation in the region, and such an attack represents not only a grave loss of innocent lives but also a violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and its peace-building mission." KBF general secretary Abdulgafoor Makkatteri, said."On behalf of the KBF and its members, we extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and pray for strength and comfort for them.
