The State of Qatar won several awards at the International Forum of Arab Women in Diplomacy, organized by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States at its headquarters in Cairo Monday, in cooperation with the Arab Council for Social Responsibility, coinciding with the International Day of Arab Women Diplomats. Her Excellency Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater was awarded the Arab Woman Excellence Shield for Social Responsibility 2026 in recognition of her leadership at the national, regional, and international levels in supporting education and society, and as an inspiring model of Arab women's leadership. The award was received on her behalf by Counselor at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to the League of Arab States Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim. In the same context, Director of the Department of Private Schools and Kindergartens at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Dr. Rania Yousri Mohammed was honored with the Arab Woman Social Responsibility Award 2026 for the Social Responsibility Project in Private Schools and Kindergartens. Dr. Mohammed told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that Qatar's experience in this field was presented to Arab countries to exchange expertise and promote a culture of social responsibility and solidarity among schools, students, parents, and relevant ministries. She expressed hope that the project would help provide equitable, high-quality educational opportunities for all students in Qatar's private schools, enhancing education quality and supporting community development goals. Her Excellency Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti also received the Arab Woman Social Responsibility Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to parliamentary and community work and her efforts to promote the values of social responsibility. The award was received on her behalf by Khalid Abdullah Al Ibrahim. The forum also honored Minister Plenipotentiary, Deputy Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Egypt and Deputy Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States Maryam Ahmed Al Shibi, in recognition of her distinguished efforts in supporting diplomatic work, strengthening joint Arab cooperation, promoting social responsibility, and empowering women in diplomacy. In a statement to QNA, Al Shibi expressed her pride in the recognition, saying it reflects appreciation for Qatari women and Qatar's approach to empowering women and enhancing their participation in decision-making in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030. She added that the award serves as motivation to continue serving communities and strengthening the role of Arab women in peacebuilding and sustainable development, dedicating the honor to Arab women in general and Qatari women in particular. The forum was attended by a distinguished group of regional and international diplomatic leaders, decision-makers, and representatives of development and media organizations.
