In a powerful expression of cultural solidarity and human connection, the International Artists Group in Doha has presented Sudan’s embassy in Doha with a collection of 11 original artworks celebrating the richness of Sudanese heritage and the resilience of its people. The donation forms part of the permanent exhibition “Art: A Message of Peace, Love and Solidarity”, an initiative that brings together artists from diverse cultural and national backgrounds in a shared commitment to promoting dialogue, compassion and understanding through art. The collection features 11 paintings inspired by scenes of Sudanese life and the broader spirit of African culture. Sudan’s ambassador to Qatar Badreddine Abdullah Mohammed Ahmed expressed his deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a meaningful demonstration of solidarity and cultural engagement. The artworks capture the beauty of Sudan’s cultural identity while also acknowledging the experiences of those affected by conflict and displacement. Speaking on behalf of the group, prominent Qatari multidisciplinary artist Saeeda al-Badr, the chair of the Doha International Artists Group for the current term, emphasised that the initiative was inspired by the belief that art possesses the ability to transcend borders and foster human connection across cultures. “Art speaks a universal language,” she said. “It creates bridges between people and reminds us of our shared humanity.” Al-Badr noted that the exhibition brings together artists from 10 countries, united by a common desire to express support for the Sudanese people and to celebrate the universal values of hope, resilience and fraternity among nations.
