Tottenham parted company with coach Igor Tudor by mutual consent Sunday after just seven games in charge as they battle to stay in the Premier League.Tudor lost five of those matches in a 44-day reign to leave Spurs out of the Champions League and hovering just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League.The 47-year-old did not appear in front of the media after last weekend's damaging 3-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest after learning of his father's death just after the game ended."We can confirm that it has been mutually agreed for head coach Igor Tudor to leave the club with immediate effect," Tottenham said in a statement."We also acknowledge the bereavement that Igor has recently suffered and send our support to him and his family at this difficult time."An update on a new head coach will be provided in due course."Tottenham are not in action again for another two weeks when they travel to Sunderland.Former Brighton and Marseille coach Roberto de Zerbi has been linked with the job, while reports have suggested the club could turn to Sean Dyche's Premier League experience to dig them out of trouble for the final seven games of the season.Tudor was appointed in February following the dismissal of Thomas Frank.Hired with a reputation of making an immediate impact during a nomadic coaching career, the Croatian was powerless to stop Tottenham's slide towards the relegation trapdoor for the first time since 1977.The London club, ravaged by injuries this season, have not won a league match since late December and are out of every cup competition.Even Tudor's sole victory was fruitless as a 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid failed to overturn a 5-2 first leg deficit in the Champions League last 16.His decision to start and then substitute back-up goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky after just 17 minutes of the first leg in Madrid summed up a chaotic short-lived reign.Premier League slideIn the Premier League, he managed just one point from five games, which came against the odds in a 1-1 draw at Liverpool.A 4-1 home defeat against north London rivals Arsenal got the former Juventus boss off to a bad start and worse was to come in further losses to Fulham, Crystal Palace and Forest.Spurs won the Europa League last year under Ange Postecoglou to end a 17-year trophy drought but the Australian was sacked following a 17th-place finish in the Premier League.Frank arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with an impressive track record at Brentford and the club started the season with just one defeat in their first seven league games.But they lost their way and club bosses axed the Dane under fan pressure following a run of just two wins in 17 league games.With the fates of Burnley and Wolves almost certainly sealed, Spurs are battling for survival along with West Ham, currently in the relegation zone, Forest and Leeds.Relegation to the second-tier Championship would be a seismic event in English football.Spurs, who play in a gleaming new stadium that holds more than 60,000 fans, are one of the so-called "Big Six" in the Premier League and were ninth in Deloitte's latest Money League study for the richest clubs in world football.Just a few years ago they were Champions League regulars under former manager Mauricio Pochettino, reaching the final in 2019, but their decline has been precipitous. 

Tottenham Hotspur interim coach Igor Tudor has been criticised for his treatment of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky after substituting him after 17 minutes of his side’s 5-2 loss at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on ‌Tuesday. Tudor sprung a surprise by dropping regular keeper Guglielmo Vicario for the ​last-16 first leg tie and ‌handing Czech Kinsky his first start since October. But the move backfired ‌in spectacular fashion as Tottenham conceded ‌three goals in the opening 15 minutes - ‌two of them resulting from glaring errors by the young keeper. Tudor immediately sent on Vicario, the Croat standing stony-faced as a stunned Kinsky headed for the sanctuary of the dressing room. “He’s (Tudor) made decisions that he maybe thinks is going to one, keep him in a job, or two, keep Tottenham in the Premier League and performances are going to turn around,” former Leeds United, Tottenham and England keeper Paul Robinson told the BBC. “It was a very selfish decision (to substitute him) ​as a manager. “I think he brought Kinsky in tonight thinking that if he does well I have got an excuse to keep him in now until the end of the season. He ‌reverted on that decision very, very early on ​in the game. “It’s quite blatantly for self preservation by the manager because ​it was a decision that he thought was best for him and his team at the time, without consideration for the young goalkeeper.” Joe Hart said he was shocked by Tudor’s treatment of Kinsky. “The whole stadium is feeling sorry for him. He walks past Igor Tudor - and he doesn’t even acknowledge him. If that’s man-management, I am flabbergasted,” the former England keeper, who also had a spell at Tottenham, said. “He’s had a bad moment, a slip, and then another bad moment. But the fact he (Tudor) has taken him off, at 22, to just ‌rip him off, how is ‌that good for him?” Atletico coach Diego Simeone said he had never seen anything like it before and there was even sympathy from Atletico’s fans and players. “Mentally, it must be very tough for the goalkeeper. It wasn’t the best solution,” French striker Antoine Griezmann said. Support also came from former Manchester United keeper David de Gea. “No one who hasn’t been a goalkeeper can understand how difficult it is to play in this position. Keep your head up and you will go again,” the Spaniard said on ​X. The defeat set an unwanted record for Tottenham who suffered a sixth successive loss for the first time in the club’s history. It also raised serious questions about whether Tudor will remain in his post. He replaced Thomas Frank last month with a reputation for helping turn around clubs in trouble but he has lost all four of his games in charge and if anything relegated-threatened Tottenham’s performances have deteriorated. “I need to apologise to the fans, to everyone. It’s incredibly difficult to explain, at least ‌for the first 20 ​minutes, I’ve never seen in my life, things like this. It’s very strange to explain,” Tudor said. 

Tottenham interim boss Igor Tudor has admitted his struggling side are not fit enough as he pledged to "put some petrol in the engine" to avoid relegation.Tudor has arrived in north London with Tottenham embroiled in a battle to avoid playing in the second tier for the first time since 1977-78. Tottenham have won only two of their last 18 matches in the Premier League and sit just four points above the relegation zone ahead of today's trip to Fulham.Tudor, hired as a temporary replacement for the sacked Thomas Frank, knows his players' physical condition is a key to their hopes of beating the drop. Traditionally a coach who demands a high level of intensity, the Croatian conceded his squad haven't been able to match the required levels."Physically, I believe, we are not in an amazing situation," Tudor said. "They have played lots of games in the last period without lots of players available and it meant the physical condition of the team has dropped down. So, we need to use this period where we don't play the games to put some petrol in the engine so the engine starts to work better. They are fatigued. To do the pressing high you need to be fit, but all of them because if someone is not in the right shape, there is a problem because someone is coming late. For sure, we will improve and do these things better over time, but in this moment it's a big question what we can do and what we cannot do."Clips have already gone viral of Tudor getting Tottenham players to do runs in training in scenes reminiscent of pre-season. Given Tottenham's tendency to produce only one strong half of football in matches under Frank, their conditioning is not a new problem.Tudor pushed back at suggestions his methods may be too hard for them to cope with amid a gruelling season. "No, never punishing. That's the only way - running. The pitch is 100 yards. You say yards here, 100 yards, it's long, so you need to run," he said. "There are habits. Maybe you have habits to... I don't know... work a bit less? I put some runs without the ball. Players never like runs without the ball!" 

Juventus on Monday sacked coach Igor Tudor after the Serie A club’s 1-0 defeat by Lazio meant they had accumulated just five points in their last five matches.Men’s first team coach Massimiliano Brambilla will be on the bench for the match against Udinese on Wednesday, the Turin club said.“Juventus FC announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach of the men’s first team, along with his staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci,” it said.“The club thanks Igor Tudor and his entire staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past few months and wishes them all the best for their future careers.”Juventus sit eighth in Serie A six points behind leaders Napoli. They are 25th out of 36 teams in the Champions League standings after drawing one and losing two of their first three games.Ex-Croatia international centre-back Tudor, 47, played for Juve in his career and took over from Thiago Motta as manager in March.Juve have not won since September 10 and are on a run of eight winless games, and have not scored in the last four.Tudor’s overall Juventus record was 10 wins for eight draws and six defeats. One of the worst runs in the club’s recent history follows an active summer transfer window during which the club spent 130 millions euros ($151mn).The recruits included wingers Francisco Conceicao, Nico Gonzalez and Edon Zhegrova and centre backs Lloyd Kelly and Piere Kalu. One striker Lois Openda came on loan and another, Jonathan David, on a free transfer.Sky Sport Italy reported that Juventus want former Napoli and Italy coach Luciano Spalletti to take over.Spalletti was sacked by the Italian federation in June.
