The third edition of Hamba Pakistani Mango Exhibition and Its Products concluded at Souq Waqif on Monday (July 20) after attracting more than 84,000 visitors and recording sales of over 174 tonnes of Pakistani mangoes, spotlighting its growing popularity as one of Qatar's leading seasonal food events.  Organised by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office in co-operation with the embassy of Pakistan in Qatar, the exhibition transformed the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif into a showcase of Pakistan's renowned mangoes and mango-based products, offering visitors an experience that combined shopping, tasting and culinary discovery.  More than 30 Pakistani and local companies participated alongside over 30 restaurants and food producers, presenting a wide selection of dishes, desserts, juices, pickles, ice cream and seasonal fruits imported from Pakistan.  Visitors sampled more than 10 of Pakistan's best-known mango varieties, including Sindhri, Chaunsa, White Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol and Dussehri, while also exploring a range of innovative mango-inspired products and recipes that highlighted the richness of Pakistani cuisine. **media[470525]**To ensure food safety and product quality, organisers established an on-site laboratory in co-operation with the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Municipality and a commercial laboratory to carry out inspections and quality testing throughout the event.  Despite logistical challenges arising from the current regional situation, which affected the arrival of some mango shipments, the organising committee, working closely with the embassy of Pakistan and relevant stakeholders, ensured the uninterrupted availability of premium-quality Pakistani mangoes during the exhibition.  General supervisor Khalid Saif al-Suwaidi said that the third edition built on the success of its predecessors and further strengthened the exhibition's standing as one of Souq Waqif's premier seasonal events. **media[470524]**He said that the continued partnership with the embassy of Pakistan enabled broad participation from companies and restaurants, allowing visitors to experience some of Pakistan's finest mango varieties alongside innovative food products that reflected the country's rich culinary heritage.  Al-Suwaidi noted that close co-ordination among organisers and partners helped overcome logistical challenges caused by regional developments, ensuring the exhibition maintained its quality standards and continued to meet visitors' expectations. He said that the turnout of 84,600 visitors and sales of 174,152kg of mangoes underscored the exhibition's growing reputation as a leading platform for promoting Pakistan's premium mangoes and related products in Qatar.  Al-Suwaidi thanked the embassy of Pakistan, government and private sector partners, media organisations and all working teams for contributing to the exhibition's success. He also expressed appreciation to the public for their strong support, saying that the event's achievements reflected the collective efforts and close co-operation of all partners.    

The third Hamba Pakistani Mango Exhibition and Its Products opened Thursday at Souq Waqif, welcoming visitors to its biggest edition with over 30 exhibitors, exclusive mango varieties and a diverse culinary showcase celebrating one of Pakistan's most treasured fruits.The event was inaugurated by Abdulrahman Mohammed al-Naama, representative of the Private Engineering Office (PEO), in the presence of Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar Muhammad Aamir, in addition to a number of other ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps, among other guests.**media[466287]**The exhibition, running until July 18 and organised by the PEO’s Celebrations Committee in co-operation with the Pakistan embassy, welcomes visitors daily from 4pm-10pm within a fully air-conditioned tent, offering shopping, tasting and cultural experiences centred around Pakistani mangoes and their products.Speaking to Gulf Times, exhibition general supervisor Khalid Saif al-Suwaidi said this year's event has expanded significantly in both scale and variety."We have 30 companies for the mango and 30 companies for the restaurants," he said. "We have more than 10 kinds of mango, and we also have a promise from the embassy of Pakistan: they have sent something special – a mango variety coming to Qatar for the first time."Visitors can explore more than 10 renowned Pakistani mango varieties, including Sindhri, Chaunsa, White Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol and Dusehri, alongside seasonal fruits such as apricots, peaches, jamun and chikoo.More than 30 restaurants and food exhibitors are serving mango-inspired desserts, juices, ice cream, pickles and authentic Pakistani cuisine.**media[466281]**Highlighting one of the exhibition's unique attractions, al-Suwaidi said visitors are encouraged to taste the fruit before making a purchase."This exhibition may be the only one where you can try all the mangoes before you buy," he said. "In another market, you buy directly. Here, you can taste and then buy."He also stressed that food quality and visitor safety are priorities throughout the event.**media[466283]**"Every day, samples are taken and checked to ensure everything is okay," al-Suwaidi said, noting that laboratory testing and inspections by the Ministry of Public Health are conducted daily.According to the organisers, Pakistan is the world's fifth-largest mango producer, harvesting more than 1.8mn tonnes annually.Building on the success of the previous Pakistani editions and the recent Indian mango exhibition, organisers expect this year's event to attract record visitor numbers while offering a rich cultural and culinary experience in the heart of Souq Waqif.
