Young minds at MES embrace Gandhian values commemorating Gandhi Jayanti

MES Indian School observed Gandhi Jayanti with a series of engaging activities for students from Classes I to XII, highlighting Mahatma Gandhi’s life, values, and enduring teachings and marking his 157th birth anniversary. The school’s Kindergarten Section celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with patriotic fervour through a special assembly. The programme featured a delightful presentation by a KG II student dressed as Mahatma Gandhi, who briefly spoke about the values of truth and non-violence. A special costume parade followed, with children portraying and introducing eminent national leaders and freedom fighters.**media[501465]**The celebrations featured a diverse range of creative activities. Classes I and II participated in a Dress Up as Gandhiji activity, portraying Mahatma Gandhi and personalities associated with his life, and shared brief reflections on his life. At the same time, Classes III and IV explored his childhood and values through a storytelling competition narrating incidents from Gandhiji’s childhood and highlighting his ideals of truth, honesty, kindness and courage. Classes V to VII expressed the theme of non-violence through poster designing, while Classes VIII and IX commemorated Gandhi’s 157th birth anniversary through innovative stamp designs without using portraits. Students of Classes X to XII created bookmarks inspired by Gandhian values and memorable quotes.**media[501466]**Through meaningful participation and creative expression, the observance enabled students to reflect on Gandhi’s ideals of truth, non-violence, simplicity, and service, making the occasion a purposeful and enriching learning experience. As part of the Gandhi Jayanti observance, the Campus Care Force (CCF) of MES conducted a cleanliness campaign on the school campus.

Gandhi Jayanti marked with voices, values and creative expressions

MES Indian School, Evening Shift, commemorated Gandhi Jayanti on October 1 with a series of programmes and competitions to inspire students to reflect on Mahatma Gandhi’s life, values, and principles. The Kindergarten Section presented a special celebration featuring patriotic songs and presentations titled “Little Voices, Big Values”, “Walk with the Little Leaders”, and “Dress Up & Salute”.**media[501471]**The programme was graced by principal Dr Hameeda Kadar, senior vice-principal Shihabudeen Pulath, head of section (Evening) Shalini Sharma, head of section (Junior) Sameena Ashfaq, and head of section (KG) Suja Mathew. Students of Classes I to IX participated in “Dress Up as Gandhiji”, “Poster Making”, “Collage Making”, “Debate” and “Article Writing” activities, based on themes highlighting Gandhian ideals and their relevance today. The Scouts and Guides Unit organised a speech competition, giving students a platform to share their thoughts on Gandhiji’s life, values, principles, and contributions to the nation.**media[501472]**The celebrations fostered creativity, reflection and value-based learning among students. MES Indian School remains committed to nurturing responsible, compassionate and value-driven citizens through meaningful educational experiences.
