The State of Qatar participated in the activities of the first Arab Forum for Administrative Justice and Integrity, which was held in Cairo under the title 'Developing Administrative Investigation Skills and Promoting Governance Principles.'As part of the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to the Arab League, Amna Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti attended the forum's activities.The forum, organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization in cooperation with the Administrative Prosecution Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt, aims to highlight the role of administrative investigation as a pivotal tool in supporting transparency and accountability, in addition to reviewing the legal frameworks and practical applications related to governance. The forum will also discuss best practices and experiences in developing disciplinary systems and promoting institutional integrity within government agencies.The forum’s themes address the concept of good governance and its dimensions in public administration, administrative investigation as a tool to promote governance in light of the United Nations Convention against Corruption 2003, and technical problems in administrative investigation and their impact on the effectiveness of governance. Additionally, modern judicial principles and trends in disciplinary accountability and governance support will be addressed, as well as disciplinary sanctions and administrative grievances and their role in establishing the principle of accountability and governance in comparative disciplinary systems in Arab countries, in addition to holding simulation sessions and practical applications to link administrative investigation with governance principles.

Bloomberg Media’s top executive has emphasised the company’s commitment to protecting its journalism and subscriber relationships while advancing artificial intelligence (AI) tools, noting that the approach reflects its long-term investment in the Middle East and its partnership with Doha through the Qatar Economic Forum (QEF). Chief executive officer Karen Saltser said Bloomberg Media’s events business is designed to extend beyond the in-room experience, with market-moving moments amplified across television, streaming, digital, podcasts, newsletters and social platforms. She explained that this multi-platform approach provides resilience and flexibility as the media and events landscape continues to evolve.  Asked about content licensing deals with AI companies, Saltser stated that Bloomberg Media’s priority remains safeguarding its direct relationship with audiences. “Bloomberg Media’s value comes from trusted journalism, proprietary data, real-time information and the loyalty of highly engaged subscribers and clients. Any arrangement would have to reinforce that, not weaken it,” Saltser said.She noted that industry discussions are shifting toward models that reflect ongoing usage, attribution, and value exchange, but stressed that transparency, control over content, and preserving product integrity would be essential for Bloomberg Media. At the same time, Saltser highlighted Bloomberg Media’s own investments in AI, including AI-powered search, contextual advertising technology and tools that help audiences navigate large volumes of information more efficiently, always with human oversight. Saltser pointed to Bloomberg Media’s relaunch of its on site search powered by AI, which she said led to a double digit increase in clickthrough. “But the broader impact of AI is really about making Bloomberg Media’s journalism more useful and more accessible across platforms. We’re using AI to improve personalisation, surface relevant content faster, and help audiences navigate an enormous volume of information in a more efficient way,” she explained. “On the editorial side, tools like AI-assisted summaries and ‘takeaways’ help readers quickly understand the key points of complex stories, while always keeping journalists and editors firmly in the loop. We see those tools as complementary to our journalism, not a replacement for it,” Saltser continued. She further noted that AI is accelerating Bloomberg Media’s video and distribution strategy, enabling hundreds of hours of content each month across multiple platforms, while AI-supported contextual targeting helps advertisers align with relevant content in real time. Internally, Bloomberg Media is using AI-powered audience insight tools to better understand what different segments of its audience value and how they engage with content. Saltser emphasised that all of these efforts ultimately aim to help people access trusted information more efficiently. Earlier, Saltser said the collaboration between Bloomberg Media and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has grown considerably in recent years, driven by the Middle East’s expanding role in the global economy. She said, “QEF’s combination of both regional relevance and international reach has been especially important. Bloomberg Media brings a worldwide audience, editorial authority, and cross-platform amplification, while Qatar has continued positioning itself as a major hub for international business and diplomacy.” Together, Saltser noted, that dynamic has allowed QEF to become “a meaningful forum for conversations that extend far beyond the region itself across business, policy, technology and investment.” 

His Excellency the Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah al-Attiyah held a series of bilateral meetings Monday with ministers participating in the World Urban Forum, currently underway in Baku.He met separately with Somalia’s Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing Ayub Ismail Yusuf; Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov; the Secretary of State for Housing at the Ministry of National Planning, Urban Development, Housing and Urban Policy of Morocco, Adib bin Ibrahim; and the Minister of Local Governance of the Palestinian Authority, Dr Eng. Sami Hijjawi.The meetings dealt with prospects for co-operation, in addition to a host of topics of mutual interest, primarily in the areas of urban development, housing, and municipal services.  

Qatar participated in the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), which kicked off on Sunday in Baku and runs until May 22 under the theme Housing the world: Safe and resilient cities and communities.The WUF is organised by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), with the participation of officials, decision-makers and experts concerned with urban development and housing from various countries of the world.His Excellency the Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah al-Attiyah led Qatar's delegation at the forum.He participated in the opening ceremony, which was attended by Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, along with a number of senior officials and international decision-makers.HE al-Attiyah also participated in the ministerial meeting, which addressed issues of sustainable urban expansion, housing policies, and digital transformation in urban planning.In a speech delivered during the forum, the minister affirmed that Qatar, based on its National Vision 2030, adopts an integrated planning approach that links sustainable urban development, modern transport networks, and environmental sustainability, in a way that contributes to enhancing the quality of life and raising the efficiency of resource use.HE al-Attiyah said that building sustainable cities is now a strategic necessity to ensure quality of life and enhance the ability of societies to face future challenges, including climate change and rapid economic and technological transformations.He pointed to the pivotal role played by the public transport system in Qatar, especially the Doha Metro network, in supporting balanced urban development, reducing emissions, and enhancing connectivity between different urban areas.The minister also addressed Qatar's experience in developing pioneering urban projects, especially Lusail City and Msheireb Downtown Doha, as two models that reflect the state's commitment to developing advanced urban communities that combine sustainability, innovation and quality of life.HE al-Attiyah also pointed out that digital transformation has become one of the main pillars in the development of modern cities, through the use of geographic information systems, digital twins, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, which enhances the efficiency of data-based urban planning and supports knowledge-based decision-making. 

Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Transport, took part in the International Transport Forum (ITF) 2026 Summit held in Leipzig, Germany, on May 6-8, under the theme Financing Resilient Transport.Held this year under the presidency of Azerbaijan, the forum discussed ways to enhance the resilience of transport systems and their ability to address economic, technological, and environmental challenges.It also reviewed best practices in financing transport infrastructure projects, supporting the transition towards more sustainable and innovative transport systems.The Ministry of Transport said this participation came within the framework of strengthening partnerships and constructive dialogue, keeping pace with the latest global policies and trends in the transport sector.It also aimed to enhance co-operation with countries and international organisations, as well as hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from various countries, thereby supporting national interests and facilitating the exchange of expertise.The summit brought together transport ministers from around the world, along with representatives of international organisations, the private sector, and experts.It is considered one of the most prominent global events in the transport sector and the largest annual gathering of transport ministers and decision-makers to discuss policies and future trends and promote international co-operation.  

At the Second International Migration Review Forum in New York, Qatar urged the global community to prioritise three pivotal areas to advance the future of migration governance.Central to Qatar's approach is the strategic expansion of regular migration pathways.Qatar advocated for these pathways to be embraced as proactive policy instruments rather than mere reactive alternatives to irregular migration.It emphasised that countries investing in comprehensive migration governance today will secure a decisive competitive advantage amid the transformative impacts of climate change and technological innovation on global labour markets.Building on this foundation, Qatar highlighted the imperative of embedding protection throughout the entire migration cycle – from recruitment in countries of origin to reintegration upon return.This necessitates an international framework of shared responsibility that seamlessly integrates labour and residency governance with robust, co-ordinated efforts to combat human trafficking.Recognising that accountability is critical to progress, Qatar further stressed the importance of strengthening measurement mechanisms within the Forum's framework.It asserted that declarations of progress carry genuine weight only when anchored in agreed indicators, consistently monitored through successive review cycles.The Global Compact's 23 objectives, Qatar noted, demand monitoring tools commensurate with their ambition.Qatar's statement, delivered by Her Excellency the Undersecretary of Labour Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman al-Thani, framed these principles within the broader context of the Forum's purpose: to achieve tangible and measurable progress beyond dialogue.Qatar's involvement, she said, is rooted in the firm belief that humane and effective migration governance is both attainable and accountable.Expanding on these commitments, HE Sheikha Najwa reaffirmed Qatar's dedication to advancing this agenda through close partnership with the international community, expressing readiness to collaborate with states seeking to enhance their migration governance frameworks.The statement then provided a detailed overview of Qatar's comprehensive national reforms aligned with international commitments.It began with a fundamental restructuring of the expatriate labour system, founded on a rigorous rights-based framework.Among the key reforms is the ending of exit permit requirements, granting workers greater freedom to change employers.This significant step is complemented by the introduction of the region's first non-discriminatory minimum wage, setting a new standard for labour rights.To further safeguard workers, Qatar has established visa centres in countries of origin, ensuring protections commence prior to departure.These are supported by advanced complaint mechanisms that guarantee effective remedies and unfettered access to justice.Recognising that reform must be coupled with enforcement, Qatar has bolstered its oversight framework and instituted clear legal and criminal accountability for violations.The state reaffirmed that reform without enforcement ultimately falls short of its objectives.Acknowledging the transnational nature of human trafficking – a crime exploiting regulatory loopholes – Qatar has responded by establishing an integrated governance model.This model unites labour, migration, residency, law enforcement, and anti-trafficking policies into a cohesive system designed to address these complex challenges holistically.Through the implementation of these reforms, HE Sheikha Najwa said, Qatar has evolved from a participant state to a global leader within the Global Compact framework, serving as a practical point of reference that influences the lives of more than 2mn individuals daily.The statement concluded with a confident reaffirmation that states pursue reforms not in response to external pressures but from the conviction that investing in human rights is essential to societal stability and economic competitiveness.While acknowledging that no system is without gaps, Qatar emphasised its commitment to addressing these openly through robust measurement tools and active collaboration with international partners, including the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), alongside close co-operation with countries of origin.Complementing these multilateral efforts, HE Sheikha Najwa utilised the Forum's platform to engage in constructive bilateral discussions with Lesotho’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Lejone Mpotjoane and Somalia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ali Mohamed Omar.  

 Senior officials, policymakers and experts from Europe and the Gulf gathered in Milan yesterday for a high-level initiative focused on strengthening co-operation between the European Union and the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) amid growing regional instability.The event, held at Palazzo Clerici, was organised by the Doha Forum and MED Dialogues in partnership with the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and the Centre for International Policy Research (CIPR).Held under the title "Bridging Stability: EU-GCC Co-operation in an Era of Fragmentation", the initiative examined co-ordinated responses to a rapidly evolving post-conflict regional landscape.Discussions centred on the impact of the ongoing war involving Iran and its wider regional consequences, including implications for regional stability, global energy markets and economic security.Participants also explored opportunities to deepen EU-GCC co-operation in areas such as security, crisis management, energy resilience and trade, with particular attention given to the Gulf region, the Levant and strategic maritime corridors.The plenary session featured Adviser to the Prime Minister and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari alongside Luigi Di Maio, the European Union's Special Representative for the Gulf.Speaking during the session, Dr al-Ansari said that the Gulf represented "a stable partner for Europe in security and energy", adding that the current regional crisis demonstrated the depth of shared interests between both sides."Moving forward requires sustained and structured co-operation capable of withstanding periods of instability," he said.Di Maio said that Gulf and European security were "closely interconnected and inseparable", stressing the importance of building a partnership capable of confronting shared challenges."The question today is no longer whether co-operation is necessary, but whether we are building the frameworks and levels of trust required to act decisively," he said.Closed-door discussions during the initiative focused on the future shape of the regional order after the conflict, defence co-operation, and energy and industrial policy, with participants underlining the need to translate dialogue into co-ordinated action.The programme concluded with a reception hosted by the Consulate-General of Qatar in Milan.Organisers also confirmed that the 24th edition of the Doha Forum will be held in Doha on December 5-6, under the theme *Redefining Global Trust, bringing together world leaders and policymakers to discuss international co-operation and confidence-building in a rapidly changing global environment. 

His Excellency the Adviser to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Dr Majed bin Mohammed al-Ansari participated in a session titled "Which Security Tomorrow" as part of the NEXT Milan Forum, organised by the Italian Institute for International Political Studies.In his remarks, Dr al-Ansari stressed the need to strengthen international collective action and support institutional frameworks capable of managing dialogue, contributing to building a more stable and secure future. He said the current international landscape is marked by increasing complexity, amid declining trust among global actors, which directly impacts prospects for tangible progress in addressing ongoing issues and conflicts.He noted that divisions within societies, compounded by the growing influence of media and political narratives, further complicate the situation and hinder pathways to resolution. He underscored the importance of sustaining the role of mediation, diplomacy, and international institutions at this stage, describing them as essential tools for fostering an environment conducive to constructive dialogue and bringing relevant parties to the table, thereby advancing efforts toward viable solutions.The MoFA spokesperson also highlighted the rise of global pessimism, particularly among youth, driven by the escalation and persistence of conflicts without clear prospects for resolution, noting that several of these conflicts have extended over long periods without definitive solutions. 

Qatar participated in the 2026 Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) Green and Sustainable Development Forum, held on April 28-30 in Ningbo, China. Qatar’s delegation was led by Qatar’s Consul General in Shanghai Rashid bin Mubarak al-Khater.  

His Excellency the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh al-Khulaifi met separately Saturday with Bolivia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Fernando Aramayo, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo, the Presidential Envoy and Senior Adviser for Africa at the US Department of State Massad Boulos, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan, Venezuela’s Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrea Corao Faria, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Mission in Libya Hanna Tetteh, and Chief Adviser to the President of Brazil Celso Amorim, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. During the meetings, they discussed the co-operation, relations and ways to support and strengthen them. They also discussed the latest developments in the region and several topics of common interest. 

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani participated Saturday in a meeting of the ministerial committee tasked by the joint extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit to address developments in the Gaza Strip. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum.During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.The prime minister reiterated Qatar's firm and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on international law and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. 

In celebration of World Art Day on April 15, the art exhibition “Reflections: After the Crescent, Amid Change” successfully concluded, featuring eight Doha-based artists and life coach speakers. Organised by Doha Women Forum and Golden CMC Events & Management, the event brought together a diverse audience for an evening centered on reflection, resilience, and connection. Originally envisioned for International Women’s Day, the exhibition evolved in response to changing circumstances. This transformation gave rise to its final theme, emphasising the importance of adapting while staying grounded. The programme opened with remarks from organiser Marivie Alabanza, who introduced the theme and its deeper meaning. She described art as a mirror of both personal and shared experiences, especially in times of change. “The gathering served as a gentle reminder of the power of art to help individuals and communities navigate uncertainty and rediscover a sense of normalcy,” she said. A special guest at the event was the Ambassador of Moldova to Qatar, HE Iulian Grigorita, who emphasised the importance of cultural initiatives in challenging times. “Organising such events is crucial for maintaining morale, providing psychological relief, and preserving cultural identity,” he said. “We learn how to foster resilience, combat isolation, strengthen social cohesion, and allow communities to support artists through collective action.” The Ambassador was joined by Farhan Al Sheikh Al Sayed, Founder and Patron of Art, Fashion, and Cultural Diplomacy, as they explored the exhibition and engaged with the artists. Complementing the art displays were talks and workshops on practical tools for emotional processing and grounding, led by life coaches Dr Femida Ali and Touba Karam. These sessions reinforced the event’s aim of fostering not only artistic appreciation but also personal well-being. The exhibition featured a diverse range of works reflecting emotional depth, resilience, and shared memory. Attendees were also invited to witness live painting sessions by artists Muznah Hasnat and Danica Hernandez, where art was created in real time. Maria Al Bader, one of the featured artists, stressed the broader significance of the occasion, saying: “World Art Day serves as a global reminder of how art enriches our souls and bridges cultural divides. It is not just about admiring beautiful paintings, but a call to recognise art as a universal language that promotes peace, diversity, and innovation. “Events like this provide democratic access to culture, foster innovation, support mental health, and uplift local talent,” she added. For participating artists, the exhibition was more than a showcase. “It was a space for collaboration and shared growth,” said artist Rodica Grigorita. “Such activities strengthen solidarity, allowing communities of artists to stay connected, feel safer together, and support each other.” Other artists who showcased their work included Yvonne Tsui, Ina Dzikusar, Sarvani Nedumolu, and 12-year-old Afizah Naaz. In her closing remarks, Doha Women Forum Founder Conchita Ponce spoke about the emotional power of art. She highlighted how colours, textures, and artistic expression, whether in monochrome or vibrant hues, can deeply affect individuals and communities, especially in uncertain times. The event concluded with London Bakery treating lucky attendees to special goodies, while community partner Qatar Living documented the program. Guests continued to explore the artworks, engage with artists, and enjoy a snack buffet.
